To cap accuracy on birds you're going to need a total accuracy of about 407.

Warrior polearm skill is 240, +6 merits puts it at 252. That's 246.8 accuracy.

We'll be generous and say you have 120 Dex, so that gives you another 90 accuracy.

Assuming /sam and full time hasso, that gives you another 10 accuracy.

So to cap accuracy "without aggressor" you need to be wearing +60 accuracy in gear.

How much haste gear are you giving up?

Crab sushi is by far the best deal to cap accuracy on birds, any other sacrifice on gear will hurt more than help.

Asking madrigal to the brd or hunter's roll should be out of the question

Any party of one-handed DD or polearm Warriors or Samurai should be more than happy to replace a March with a Madrigal.

The fun part is being the BRD who tells them that their Accuracy isn't good enough so no, they cannot have March instead of Mad.

I need a Tathlum! But Usu hands/head are loss of Haste (I have both, no Ace's), and yea, I debate swapping to them, but it's still not enough for me, with the rest of my gear, to get to an accuracy value I like...easier to get a madrigal/sushi and keep the haste on.

As for the Acc song...my recent parties have been KC rng + me + 1 other DD + Bard + Cor. The KC rng does retarded damage, and generally asks for a Hunter's Roll anyway, but yea, if I'm with a DRG + GAxe war or something, I'm not gonna ask for a madrigal.

to justify blade madrigal against advancing march you DDs need to be sitting at 80% accuracy to get full benefit from madrigal, or less than 15% haste in gear...

Meh... if you can't hit over 80% accuracy why are you eating attack anyway?

Tomoe and Engetsuto are 480 delay.

Yes, my in-game goal is to have the perfect multicolour mithra. Also, perhaps it's not my real true in-game goal. That said, I still need ruby seraweels.

    Giving up no haste:

    Dex = 68 + 41
    Combat skill (6 merits) = 252

    Accuracy from gear,

    Engetsuto +2
    Bomblet +6
    Peacock Charm +10
    Assault Earring +2
    Adaman Hauberk +15
    Sniper's Ring +1 +7
    Cuchulain's Mantle +5
    Aurum Sabatons +5

Total of +52 accuracy from gear

Level 82 Colibri with 339 Evasion requires just shy of 407 accuracy to cap.

This is the full gear set used in my example (same as mine except I haven't yet had the courage to fork out for the mantle) FFXIGEAR.com

Edit: Just realised I've completely missed the 0.75 dex calculation, only provides 380 accuracy and 390 with Hasso.

Only going to be around 87% accuracy with that.

Because it sucks dick to rely on food for your accuracy....get food stolen once right before you penta and land a big 2hit, and you just nullified any advantage you would have had from having it the other way around. Losing the attack at a bad time isn't near as devastating.

Slightly offtopic, but the right people are here to ask:

Double Attack+2% or Attack +10? I generally hover around 500-700 attack and 7% Double Attack on my DRK. Generally, I'm about 50/50 Melee/WS damage. I'm guessing they'll be close, about equal melee DoT increase, but the DA adds WS frequency, so the DA has a slight edge. Does that sound about right?

This is regarding the new Crystalline Prophecy reward, of course.

You should ask whether 1 hander job got merit party or not before that.

So it's better for you to lose march in order to get a lesser disadvantage whenever the bird steal your food, sorry that just doesn't make sense.

Between 2% DA and 10 attack the difference is minimal but DA is sightly better:

    10 attack(on Gcolibri average defense)
    600/325 = 1.84~
    610/325 = 1.87~
    improvement = 1.6%~

    2%DA
    109/107 = 1.86%~

Not 100% on topic but involving haste vs acc vs delay (and cuchulain's mantle!)

I'm no DRG but I was just curious, would a set with wyrm mail +1 for max haste do best on low-eva mobs (like colibri) assuming a perfectly ideal situation? the set i was thinking of was something like this
    FFXIGEAR.com
or would something else, say, homam body with more ATK/STR+ elsewhere do better? Just curious.

Wyrm+1 is quite good in specific situations, yes.

Hi, reading...it's great fun (and makes things make sense). I said -attack-. If my options are double march or march+madrigal, I'll take double march and use sushi. If my options include 3-4 song buffs (I say 3 because corsair > all), then I'd prefer haste/haste/madrigal, or haste/haste/madrigal/minuet with double bard, and eat meat, because bad timed snatch morsels really do make you lose a lot of damage.

    I don't see a 6-Hit build.
