    secrets are good, but you must provide good breadcrumbs to follow to out said secrets. salvage is a good example of it. at first we had no idea how to pop many of the BR ramparts or spawn the zr frogs. we experimented and eventually out they fell. AV is an example of a failure where we're still banging our heads against it years later and making zero progress to the point where we don't care anymore.

    ....ok, what the hell? I'm pretty sure Square Enix just expects you enjoy the game, not obsess endlessly over game mechanics in order to play it "perfectly."

    Well, they went a long ways towards dispelling any myths about various shenanigans affecting Salvage drop rates. Also, the following points were very interesting:


    Currently, Scholar and Dancer are unable to equip any Salvage gear. Will they be able to equip any Savlage gear in the future?

    Gondai: We’re looking into this, but have not come to a decision yet.

    I just hope they make the right decision! It's bullshit that Scholar isn't on Morrigan gear.



    Do you plan to alleviate the high difficulty of obtaining Imperial Wootz Ingots or Khroma Ore?

    Hayashi: I can’t tell you anything specific, but we will be adding more ways to obtain these items, like as a reward from upcoming content.

    Please tell us what exactly is required to make the Mad Bomber pop in Bhaflau Remnants.

    Kawanishi: Right now, it is completely random, but there is a possibility we may change this.

    Do these next two contradict each other? He uses the word "Pattern," but then they ask him another question about it and he says it's just random.

    It doesn’t appear that there is a set chance for the NM that drops level 35 pieces to pop from the Archaic Rampart in Bhaflau Remnants. Please let us know if there is some way to increase the chance of it appearing.

    Kawanishi: There is a pattern under which the NM will not pop at all. If you fight it to a certain point and still nothing has popped, nothing is going to pop and it would be wiser to simply give up and move on. Beyond that, the pop conditions are a secret.

    Archaic Ramparts in Bhaflau Remnants are somewhat hit-and-miss wouldn’t you say? There are patterns where many NMs will pop, and patterns where none will pop. Is the amount of NMs that will pop just random? Or are there certain conditions that affect this?

    You missed the context in which condition was used in the second question.

    They were asking if there was a condition in which there would be multiple pops or just one, on top of the "pattern" that exists to determine if there is or isn't going to be a pop at all.

    I thought we determined that 50% rampart HP with no NM meant no NM ever.
    Not true i've seen Bee NM and spider NM POP below 40% as first pops

    ... so, uh. I know a lot of people started playing this game because of the Final Fantasy name. That sounds like a fairly accurate descriptor of a large portion of their audience. They can expect whatever crazy bullshit they want, but it'd be nice if they were realistic about who their players are.

    At least theory crafting about mad bomber popping condition is dead now.

    Other than that,
    can't tell you, random, low chance, etc.

    I interpreted the Bhaflau Remnants ramparts answer as this:

    Each rampart has several patterns of monster pops. Like, NM 80% + 60% + 40%, NM 50%, no NM at all. Which pattern is random. I.e., there's no way to force NMs to pop, give up, no way to force more NMs to pop, give up. However, once you know the patterns, you can know when to give up.

    Not contradictory at all.
