Updating an ipod without itunes

Sorry, why can't you update using library? I don't see why sharepod means you can't?

i dunno either.
i used sharepod to just backup my stuff onto laptop then run itunes as normal to re-do the library and install.

i hate iTunes for that. had to re-install windows twice and then had to go through re-uploading everything to my ipod coz itunes is ghey
