T-Mobile G1

I currently have a T-Mobile Dash and im looking to get a G1

One thing that im unsure of and might make me hold off is -- do you have to pay for the internet plan?

On my current Dash i can connect to the internet thru T-mobiles "T-zones" and then use proxy connections to use the web / gmail / google maps.
t-zones is only $5 so that saves me quite a bit of money.

Or is the T-zone proxy connections trick available on the G1 also?

My plan with my G1 required I'd get some sort of web access. My choices were either their "Edge" or "3G"

haha i switched from the dash as well. Yes you have to get the data plan for the G1

+1 G1 actually has its own data plan.

It's nice though because it's completely unlimited internet, email, text/picture messaging.

I'm on a plan with the G/F. I pay $88/Month for mine.
