Envy is another new voice that I hate. I didnt really notice it before this episode.
think its just whoever's voice you hear first, and get accustomed to it, it just fits, and everything else just sounds wrong.
I'll repeat.. not true for all english dubs, because a lot of them do suck ass.

That's how it always is for the most part. Whatever voice you hear first, it tends to grow on you and you think that it "fits". Having watched the first 35 Eps of FMAv1 with English Dub since that's as far as they had dubbed at the time. I wanted to finish the series instead of waiting it out so I found the subbed version. Eds voice annoyed me at first because I was accustomed to the dubbed English voice over, but after a while I got used to it. Looking back though, I would say that Armstrong and Lust were done magnificently in the English dubbed version.

Hrm. I'm not really like that. I've liked Envy's voices, and his dub. I like Vic's dub of Ed, but of course I like Romi's as well. One voice that stands out to me though is probably Hughes. I enjoy his voice a ton, and I can listen to either one speak.

Honestly, there's been three dubs done really well that I can remember. Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop (both of which done by the same company), and Fullmetal Alchemist.

I like the voices in the 1st FMA in both JP and English. I'm just not liking a lot of the voices here. I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Honestly, there's been three dubs done really well that I can remember. Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop (both of which done by the same company), and Fullmetal Alchemist.

from what I remember, Wolf's Rain was a pretty good dub too. and Trigun.
My one problem with bebop/champloo and every single anime with Steve Blum in it, he uses just about the same damn voice.

His voice is awesome, but I agree. I think it is more that he is just used in so many dubs, and his voice is just way too common since he doesn't really change it at all. Most characters he plays are somewhat similar at least.

The funny thing about Blum is you don't recognize his other voices. I kinda WTFed when I heard he did the old scientist dude in the Xenosaga games, for example. His main one's just pretty good and usually fits the roles they put him to.

What?! Kuwabara had the funniest voice which made him that more awesome. I couldn't stand listening to Yu Yu in Japanese. The VA's who did Yusuke/Genkai also just blended in so perfectly with their role, (Yusuke doing a lot of yelling without it sounding stupid, etc.)

Think it's part of them not really getting fleshed out as characters. They're just bad because they're made to be, really. If anything I liked about the first anime, it was that they tried to apply some relation to their humanity with past lives. Though, we didn't really learn anything about Gluttony and Envy's identity was kind of a cop-out. I did find Lust interesting, but that's probably more because I'd bang her.

Agree wholeheartedly about the banging of Lust. I'd totally bang her if I didn't know that she could rip many many holes in me.

I'd bang her regardless, especially with Kikuko Inoue moaning sound at this point.

If the manga is any indication, Wrath and Greed would be the most interesting Homunculus later on though.
