Oh forgive me for not remembering something I watched... 5 years ago? Maybe more? When I first watched it, I watched it in japanese, as it was available first. Even when I got the Funi releases, I checked out the dub, never liked it. I like plenty of dubs just fine. Just not this one.

It's been a while since I read this part of the manga but I remember Alex putting up a better fight than that. Olivier is a complete and total badass though, you don't get to be the General of Briggs without being able to kick major ass. It was still very entertaining, but I'm gonna have to go back and reread that chapter now to make sure.

Edit: Ok, I just reread that chapter and I don't know what kind of crack I've been smoking. In the manga Olivier wipes the floor with Alex even faster than in the anime, although it all happens out of frame so what they did with the anime was a decent addition.

While we're talking about Alex and the anime... they didn't really show how Alex freaked out in Ishval, did they? Just curious because I couldn't remember~

Given the (unspoken by her but implied by Alex) reason for the fight, even if he could've put up more of a fight than he did, it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense for him to.

They butchered that flashback quite a bit. While I dont care much about certain part, Alex probably had the best scene in it.

In the anime, I think we saw him create the wall, and we heard the gunshot on the other side or something. In the manga, he help people escape, and they get killed in front of him.

Yeah, I agree. Beside, the whole fight was mostly comedy. It's almost like saying Ed didn't put a fight against the chimera when they beat him up for joining Greed.

For the reason that it was mostly comedy I wanted to see him at least bop her around to give a OSHIT ALEX DONE CAME OUT THE SHIRT effect or create some cool statues of himself as decoys to try and get the fuck out. lol I don't think he understood the purpose of her taking the house until afterwards anyway, but to be honest it's kind of characteristic of him to lay down for a friend and that's the only acceptable explanation I'll believe for that beatdown.

There will be some Alex in serious action upcoming eventually, just not against his sister, i wont say anymore or it will spoil it. The fight wont be disappointing.

I know Alex figured out what was going on and threw the fight, but he could have made it look better. I mean the guy pretty much fought Scar to a draw at the beginning of the manga, so he should be able to give his sister a run for her money.
