People watch the op/ed? Maybe it's cause I usually marathon my Anime, but I almost always skip. I'll watch the op on the first episode and sometimes watch news ones as the series progresses, but if I'm flying through the series in a single night, I usually just skip.

I'll watch op if the song really catches my attention from the start. Examples are Ergo Proxy, Black Lagoon, op#2 of Death Note, one or two from Bleach, Evangelion, Bokurano. I vary rarely watch eds.

the amount of stuff you don't see coming in the continuation of that fight is extremely epic. at least it was in the manga. but it doesn't look like it will happen next episode.

the ending of the fight was probably the biggest "Oh shit" moment ive ever had in a manga because it was so utterly unexpected.

God damn, I was thrown back and forth this episode lol. First cursing Al for fucking up, then smiling with sparkles at Alex's appearance and then back to cursing for a motherfucker thinking becoming an amputee would somehow improve the situation and then back to cheer at the prospect of a beatdown during the zoom-in when you just barely see the little teeth etched into Al's helmet. <3

I've been reading the manga for a couple of years now. Seeing all this animated extremely well makes me tear up a little on the inside. It's easily in my top 3 favorite anime of all time. Possibly #1 I can't wait for Greed to reappear again... he is fucking epic and a half.

episode was awesome... man only part that is going to be kinda dull is watching ed fight the immortal army... it'll be great when mustang shows back up

I can only think of one problem I have with this show: inconsistency in ingenuity. Every once in a while, a character will come up with some genius use of Alchemy to subdue their enemies, but other times, it's like they're perpetually holding the Idiot Ball.

For instance, when Ed released the Ammonia from the Dynamite to mess with Lion and Gorilla's sense of smell, or when Roy broke down the water to form Hydrogen and Oxygen to create an explosion, or when Scar vaporized the water to form a wall of fog. I'm sure there are a few other examples, but all we ever really see people do is make ineffectual pillars of stone from the ground which everyone and their mother seems capable of dodging or blowing up.

What's up with Roy anyway? He's got probably the best trick of any of the alchemists on the show, but why is he such a one-trick pony? Does he not KNOW any other transmutations? He did just fine in the aforementioned scenario with breaking down the Water, so why is he so useless every OTHER time there's any amount of moisture around?
Why doesn't he wear a glove on his left hand with a Water circle specifically so he can recreate that trick with the water for when it just happens to be damp? Or better yet, why doesn't he just learn Ice Alchemy like the first fucking bad guy in the show? The same goes for everyone else in the series; why don't they learn some new tricks?

I wanna see some alchemist utilize some fucking Vacuum energy. I wanna them condense all of the atmosphere immediately surrounding a person into a field about 1 inch from their skin so the pressure around them drops to near-nothing causing all of the moisture on the surface of their skin to boil away in an instant.

Roy's gloves specifically have the circles needed for his flame alchemy etched on his gloves, just like Kimblee has his on both his hands 1/2 and 1/2... the only people that have no excuse are Ed and Al... No one has time to draw the circles necessary for other alchemy in the mist of battle... except for May, but she's fkn awesome.

This show, despite all the serious scene, is still light hearted. They use pillars of stone because it's not lethal, and they can get away with it.


Also, there really isn't many fight they won with a single trick. They either win it easily, or use something clever to fight. In the case of Ed, he won nearly every fight using a technique he mastered from his previous fight.
