From the sounds of the article the "Manslaughter charge" is completely out of left field. The baby died, and they wanted to keep recieving welfare checks so they didn't report the death and tried to hide the baby by means of cremation. They never actually killed it yea?

Usually hair doesnt smell too good. Also when you cremate a body you're burning bone and all to ash. Burning is the key word there.
