Tonight's word: Repost.
That's sooo last April.
I remember buying Politics of Ecstasy when it first came out, and they used standard tuning on that and all their albums, even when tuning down to B was common (Fear Factory, Korn, etc.). I somehow managed to miss DNB, and one day I picked up DHIADW and was like, wtf7-string?! I think Next in Line was the first solo I learned front to back, but that one was never really difficult.
I see your Michael Angelo Batio and raise you Shawn Lane.

Good lord those pictures are EWWW
Any thread where I can see tentacle/slime-birthing hentai, guitars, a wiener dog drinking pepsi from a taco bell cup, Carlton Banks as Jesus and a cello with hot-rod paint, seems pretty damn random to me.
Edit: and a gd page claim. brb.

That's a bass, not a cello.

I should really paint mine an outlandish colour, but the old thing needs far more than a lick of paint.
Edit: for reference, this is a cello.

Double edit: the differences (asides from size) include the fact that basses have metal machine heads whereas cellos have violin-style things. Basses have a more curved "shoulder" to them, partly for ergonomics' sake as you play them from a different angle. And you don't get too many cellos in rockabilly bands.

Don't make Charles Mingus pull your legs off for calling the bass a sissy's instrument.
Also idk wtf, want more strings?

More strings =/= Better player.
Sick of fretboard wankists being referred to as demi-gods of music, I've never had an appreciation of speed metal, playing fast or guitar sounds so stupidly distorted it's a wall of horrible noise.
Go listen to some flamenco or jazz.
Charles Mingus looks like he'd only pull my legs off in order to eat them. I was only busting yer chops cuz you obviously own/probably play bass.
Sometimes true, and sometimes not.

I don't particularly like this band... but they are awesome guitarists.
