That's very impressive. I worked on Extreme Makeover for a year, and those weight loss stats are good even for the people we had in complete diet/exercise control. Nearly a pound a day is great - keep it up!

How tall are you btw? We turned some fat-fuck 300-lbers into sweet linebacker-looking dudes by the end of their transformation, kind of cool to see the final result.

    8th Week Loss - 5 lbs

Total Weight Loss - 50 lbs

I am a better man. Or at least I would hope so from the transformation. 50 lbs in two month, the idea itself scares the crap out of me. But I guess my scale is telling the truth as I weighted myself at the supermarket’s free weight-machine and got the surprisingly identical numbers.

Even though I feel great, have more energy, and able to move without expending a hefty sigh, nobody has yet to compliment me on my new body.

Well, nobody until this weekend . . . . by Jason’s girlfriend, or also known as the black-banshee. It happened quietly. I was taking care of my usual business as I strolled into the kitchen, fixing up my usual healthy shit. While I passed by the living room, I found Jason being tortured in front of the tube to a movie called The Wedding Date. (Mwahahahahaha squirm you poor bastard.)

So I fixed up some bean salad and a nice helping of tofu and green sprouts, made my way outside to the table and begun to dig in. Little to my knowledge, the black banshee was beaming over my shoulders and gagging at my food.

Buzz off; don’t you know it’s rude to stare at people when they eat? I hated when puppies do it and I can assure you that I will treat you the same way as I would to one of your fellow canine relatives: with a good kick.

“Jeez, Jet Lee, what’s with all this stuff you’re eating?”

I swear if I were ever left alone in a room with this woman: Pow! Right in the kisser!

    (I’m just kidding, I don’t have violent tendencies . . . .)

Yes, she just compared me to the chinese midget that’s as annoying to listen to as to watch. Apparently, to the banshee, evaluating me with some pathetic movie star was cute to her. I had the urge of calling her Joan Rivers since her overly stretched mule face reminded me of the actress. Nevertheless, I had to resist my temptation. After all, I live with her poor choice of a boyfriend. And being a soul believer of feng shui, I did like to keep my surroundings harmonized.

So, I heaved, and turned to her curiosity in which I welcomed her to the knowledge of my diet. For some oddball reason, she seemed intrigued. Patting me on my shoulders, the girl congratulated me on my weight loss. I meeped. What’s this? Friendliness from the banshee? Geeez, and here I was, thinking of ripping her face off.

It was then, Jason got jealous and barked. “It’s only a phase, he’ll ripe up again by july.”

    . . . . .

    Bastard.
Personally I think you need a psychiatrist more than a diet.

    I loled.

Yeah, I totally need a psychiatrist, know any who would give sessions for minimum wage? Seriously, I'm even frightened at the stuff going in my head sometimes.

Anyways, thanks archibaldcrane, though I think I'm dropping the weight a little too fast. But I don't want to change my routine and I'm sure it'll slow down eventually.

Yeah it'll slow down but you still have a ways to go - you're still, even at 6'6, borderline obese (although if you've lost even a pound since that 260, congrats on breaking into overweight!)

Are you experiencing any hair loss? Sometimes that happens when people (esp. women) drop weight too fast. Other than that I wouldn't worry about it yo, keep cutting!

You are the same size as me, I can get down to 180 but that is hardcore training.

I sit right now at about 220 and I feel good, can always lose more but meh.

Keep up the good work and enjoy the ride.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good 45 degree hyper extension. I look around online and saw that the cheap ones was around $100+, but most of the ones I looked at had almost no reviews.

This one had poor reviews, but it looks like the ones I used to use at the gym.

Anyone have a suggestion of one that has a similar build, but is sturdy?

If you have a local Play it Again Sports, you might be able to find something like that for pretty cheap, and you wouldn't have to have it shipped.

I do not mind paying more if the it is worth it. I just don't want to pay a lot more and get the same piece of crap as a $100 machine. If there is one that is sturdy and comfortable, I won't mind paying up to $250, maybe even $300 for one. It is a pretty simple machine, so I can't imagine having to pay more than $300 for a good one.

I found a Play it Again Sports near me, so I will go ahead and check that out first. Thanks.

How come only one mention of crossfit? Unless you are a faggot and think getting huge is cool, crossfit is probably the best thing for you. If you do stuff like me, or are an athlete or need physical endurance/strength for any other reason, starting on crossfit and looking into gymjones is probably your best bet. Once you get more understanding on the principles of crossfit/gymjones workouts and how they cycle rest and the different training days, you can create your own every time you workout.

A good rule is to go off what their page says, if you know it looks too easy, then bump it up a notch with exercises that stay in the same focus as the ones suggested but will help you get a better workout.

If anyone has any questions for crossfit stuff, or paleo/zone diets that they don't understand, then ask.

If you want to get a lot of water into your muscles so you look cool, I can help with that too, but that's really dumb.

Supplements are good, but you're really only looking at needing protein, fish oils/flax seed (3-6-9 w/flax seed), and a good understanding of how many calories you are taking in, expending, and what those calories come from. It even matters what order you eat your meals in as far as carbs, proteins, and fats lol. Also, if you want to use anabolic steroids, they are safe for you to use, as long as someone who knows what they are doing monitors your intake and cycles you properly.

This week the concept of a cheat day kind of boggled my head. I am at a stand still. You see … my birthday is coming up. Normally, I would celebrate this lonely event with a three-course meal consisted of fat, meat, and oil in a mixture of cake dough. The outcome, after being decomposed properly in my body is not pretty.

Though as I type here, I couldn’t help but to contemplate on what I should be celebrating for this year’s special anniversary. And yes, I do mean anniversary by every syllable. I created a motto on my 19th birthday that I shall never rejoice to this annual depression as the same way again. By all mean, laugh, but each year as you get older, you are only reminded by how wonderful your youth used to be. You know it’s the truth! You can’t deny it! Then again, what do I have to be depressed about? I’m not 105. But I’m not fucking 18 either, so screw you father time.

Okay, time to stop digressing on the subject at hand. Yes, what should I do for my anniversary this year? Should I consider it a free pass that I could splurge on the uncanny pleasure of fast food? Do I dare to linger over to my neighborhood bakery (aka Krisby-Kream Donut) and delight myself with its tempting loins? If you think I’m crazy, you are probably right. But luckily, like the ring around my belly, my craving for the succulent sultry of every day food has died down too. In fact, instead of drooling like Alex the lion in Madagascar, I have begun to label the idea of some fatty chowing down a burger being disgusting. Why like my roommate right now~ shhhh don’t say anything, he’s not looking. Yes, apparently I’m an uptight ass now. So he informed me. But a part of me still has that little devil that wishes to indulge. Of course, if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be here asking right now. So what do you think, should I have a cheat day on my anniversary?

Now, skipping down, I want to point something out on this post. Well, actually, let’s just let this be this week’s triumphant achievement. It’s rather stupid and I think it’s just me and my paranoia. You see … I’m starting to notice special attention I’m getting around people. You know – weird looks, sneaky peeks, and overall … friendliness. Man, what is it about fat people that just make people want to hate them? Then again, I hated my own fat ass too. Never again!

So back to my paranoia, I had a direct example last week when a rather cute girl aimlessly strolled next to me at YWCA. Her reason: small talk. My reaction: complete shock. Yes, my huge ass is somewhat frightened of the opposite sex.

Shut up! And my roommate’s girlfriend is a special case – annoyingness seems to rub off a hint of masculinity.

Girls are somewhat intimidating – they have fangs and claws and, while they all deny it, I have the sneaking suspicion that they have fire breath as well. As you can imagine, I was having a hard time to coop. What the girl did was quite normal. She complimented me on my result. And this: “I wish a lot more young people exercised like you do.”

I rewarded her with a blank stare. We were at YWCA, there ARE NO YOUNG PEOPLE HERE AT THE YWCA. Well, except my fat ass and her. So dare I conclude this as a flirt? I certainly hope not because my reply to her sudden spontaneous outburst was a combination of stupid laughter and giggity-goos. Damn you Family Guy.

Heh, just ran a 5k (3.5 mi) yesterday.

    Last year's time: 45:45
    This year's time: 35:30

    Still slow, but definite improvement.

5k is 3.1 miles, so you were faster than you think.

On a related running note, I'm booking a family trip to Disneyworld for January to run the Goofy race and a half. Half marathon at 4am on saturday followed by a full marathon at 4am on sunday. The route goes through a few of the parks. Should be one of the more interesting moments of my life.

Whoops, my math was off. I ran like 5 times in the last 5 months and have been doing some biking. The major difference this time around was the leg work I've been doing in the gym and my cardiovascular endurance being better (plus weighing 15 pounds less from this same time last year).

I hope to get down to 32 minutes next year, so I'll put in some more running work.

I'd do some endurance work first. Don't focus so much on speed as much as distance or total time. Build to being able to run 5 or 6 miles at a time or about an hour strait. After that, you can focus on LT and economy training to bring down the times. I wouldn't do any VO2 work unless you really want to get into running. Avoid the track repeats (400, 600, 800m repeats).
