I've been doing this since May 1st and holy shit its intense. I still cannot finish some of the videos in one go, but im getting very close.
and on the marathon topic, im being coerced into running in a underwear marathon. The concept is basically you run 10k in your underwear for cancers below the waist. Afterward there is a big party where everyone wears what they did for the marathon.
You don't have to wear, like, cotton whitey tighties do you? Chafing down there would suck. I've heard of 5k's that do silly stuff like that, this is the first marathon, although I've seen some weird costumes.
Just a small update on my behalf. I've been going to the gym since Feb. '09, and have been really sticking to a much stricter diet since early April. My starting weight was almost 250. Which for me is very heavy. I am 6'3 and have a very big frame, but that is what got me moving. I weighed myself for the first time since I started dieting, and have found out I dropped to a much more comfortable 227. About 20-23 lbs I've lost, which is a nice start. I want to hit about 200-205 and stay there. A couple more months and I think it's doable!
well my room mates want to make it super hero themed for some reason. They both are agreeing on the team name: Captain underpants and the underwear brigade. were going to have one person wear a cape and superman tightie whities on his/her head.

Wait. You want me to tell girls that I am afraid of them? Now, I’m not a brain surgeon but somehow I don’t think that’s going to win any girl over. Furthermore, there’s the slight problem of my height. I think it’s mentally unfeasible for me to look down at any female counterpart and say the impossible. And please, I know what you’re going to suggest next … don’t even bother to play the confidence card. If I relied on my self-confidence, I might as well die penniless and alone. Confidence is build and I, the six-foot idiot, have none. I need to find a special training camp to master the fine art of self-assurance. That’s the next agenda after my massive weight loss.
Though I think the main problem for my shyness has to do with my freaky secret. It’s shameful, disgusting, and obscene. And I don’t think I can reveal it to any living soul in real life. Sure, I’m typing away on this forum like the next flamer but being shielded by a layer of proxy, etrust, and a false identity kind of bring a sense of security. Anyways, I am a closet otaku. Yes, I know, it’s sickening. Throughout my twenty somewhat years of existence, I somehow have developed an uncanny hunger for anything big eyed and fruity. Now, if I were your normal 5’5 heavy glassed Asian kid then I wouldn’t have any problem with it. But being a 6’6 giant while hugging a pillow because Nagisa is dying from having Ushio is just abnormal. Fuck, I even cheered when Fuko made a come back on episode 18.
This weird obsession of mine is unacceptable! By all means, I have tried to put a stop to the gross fetish. Cold turkey doesn’t work. And there is no “patch” for the substance abuse of cute and adorable. Furthermore, when I tried to seek help from my local rehab center, their security guards promptly escorted me out. There is nothing hysterical about wanting to be the next combat butler. I need help, assholes!
Sigh. Okay, so I exaggerated a little but still, it’s a serious disease and it’s very contagious! I think I caught it in elementary. There was this girl, she carried a Hello Kittie backpack and it spoke to me … in Greek … and it wanted me to hug it.
… Carrying on.
Every time I think I’m freed from this abomination, I get pulled back in. Especially, when it comes to the stupid annual anime roster – hoping and praying for a second season of SOS Brigade. God, july is going to be awesome! Damn it! But for now, all I can do is hide it, thus the implication of a closet otaku. After all, it’s too appalling to admit it and no girl in their right mind would accept it in a man. At least not in this town … I live in Texas, I think that’s all I need to say.
However, let me assure you this. I have kept myself straight over the years that this obsession will not cause any harm to bystanders. In fact, on the outside I’m just your normal average guy who likes to stay in shape – in the shape of a circle. I keep my desk free of anime figurines, or on my wall, their poster complements. (I have never bought anything anime, I swear! I couldn’t make it into those stores, it’s too shameful.) My wallpaper at work and home is set as the window default screen. I don’t carry any CD, manga, or DVD. And even though I want to be the groundskeeper for the Special A club, I don’t have their avatar plastered on this or any other forum. Self-control is hard – explains why I was obese.
So you can see my big dilemma. And what’s sickening is that I honestly hope to find a girl that’s as freaky as me when it comes to lubby-dubby animes. It almost makes me cringe.
Hmmm. But enough about that. I seemed to have run off course this week on the topic at hand: Weight Loss. I am starting to slow down. That or I’m gaining muscle. Either way, I’m glad. I was seriously worried that I was dropping too fast. This is more normal and I don’t plan to change my daily routine. At least not until I’m 180, then I will start ripping.
Now I ask you distance runners, does XC make you slower? Debating whether or not to do it this fall as I'm a sprinter.
What distances do you run? If you get into the higher distances (like 1600 meters), you're starting to get into Aerobic exercise as opposed to anaerobic. I used to have a chart that had the percentages for the change in anaerobic to aerobic over the 100-1600 meter spectrum. I don't know where that is. Nonetheless, you'll benefit greatly in the longer distances (like the 1600) by doing XC training. Who knows, maybe you'll like XC and make the switch.
edit: here's something I dug up quickly...
Event
Aerobic/Anaerobic Glycolytic/Anaerobic Alactic
800 meters 40%/55%/5%
1600 meters 50%/48%/2%
3200 meters 70%/30%/<1%
5000 meters 80%/20%/<1%
I've did XC for 2 years and Track for 3. Its the choice whether to do it again to be in shape or possibly getting slower. I run 300 hurdles and 400 in track which I'm better at.
Didn't read the entire thread but qft!
Not many people know but I've lost 160 pounds doing exactly that. I also don't eat after a certain time at night (around 7pm).
Now I run about 2~ miles a day, which really isn't that much at all to be honest as I know of people who do loads more.

I figure I should make an update. I FEEL GREAT!!!
I look awesome. Still too scared to pick up girls. >_>;;;
But damn I look hot, even with my cloth off. I went to see the doctor for a checkup in July and he basically said. "Holy SHIT! Can I take a picture?"
Yeah ...
Other than that, he told me I should take some time off to let my body regulate my weight loss. So I'm following his direction and I'm taking the month August off. I still eat healthy and still exercise but not as much.
I am hoping to start again on September and get down below 200 and then get ripped.
I know I know. Pictures Pictures. Oh there will be pictures. But not until I'm completely satisified. Probably some time in November. So stay tune! XD
Damn man, almost 100 pounds in less than 6 months. That's crazy.
Thanks! XD
Oh yeah! I almost forgot to mention. I did my phsyical with the doctor and supposely, I'm 6'8 instead of 6'6. So somehow since I went to college till now, I grew 2 inches. Which sucks >:O I'm asian. It's NOT normal.
Also, the other reason I wanted to take a break is to make sure my body won't gain loose skin. I don't believe in it but I'm afraid of it. So far, it showed no sign of it. My scars are slowly disappearing too, scars as in stretch marks. So don't believe in surgery folks. Bunch of crap. Though I do use lotion every day since I started.
I just watched a thing on TLC about some dude who was 650lbs at his worst. He ended up changing his diet and started exercising. I believe he's down to 220lbs now, about 4 years after he started his campaign. The only surgery he had was to remove excess skin (about 15lbs worth according to the show).
That's pretty impressive, congrats.
I've heard of people using Vitamin E Oil (available at any natural food store) for use in diminishing scars/stretch marks, but I'm not sure how well it works. Worth looking into, I guess.
