But I have begin my diet and exercise routine for 3 weeks now. I was 310 lbs from the start and now I'm 280 while finishing my fourth week. Results are nice and I haven't weighted myself this week yet, not until monday. I only weight weekly since it says it helps if I did it in increments.

No one said anything to you but I gotta commend you for doing all this stuff. Keep it up and show us the results when you're comfortable with it man *cheer*

    Thanks everyone.

Yeah, I’m definitely going to continue to post here. It’s giving me a good boost of motivation.

    Starting Weight – 310 lbs

    4th Week Loss – 7 lbs

    4th Week Weight – 278 lbs

Total Weight Loss – 32 lbs

Either my scale is screwing with me or something is wrong. I know when you start losing weight you drop a lot of weight at the start and it slows down eventually. But wasting 32 lbs in a month? Yeah, something is definitely wrong. I don’t feel any different though. In fact, I feel great, a lot more energy and endurance. Furthermore, I’m not as hungry as I was before and my body is changing . . . .

But here is my eating routine. Tell me if I’m doing something wrong. I’m not counting calories. I don’t have enough time or brain cell to worry about that.

    Breakfast 5:15 A.M.

Oatmeal with Soy Milk. I first started with Oatmeal and it was good so I kept it. One cup only, not sweetened. I don’t drink milk, never have and I don’t crave it. Always drunk soy milk and this taste badass. I also eat half a boiled egg along with it and some pickles for sodium. Mmmm. Pickles and Oatmeal, sounds delicious, doesn’t it? Hah

Oh and a week ago I started to add frozen fruits in my oatmeal because its too hot coming out of the microwave and I don’t have the patience to wait for it. Besides, it’ll get all soggy by the time it cools down which is nasty. So I added frozen fruits and they’re like ice cubes that cools down the oatmeal. A few frozen strawberries today and a few frozen blueberries tomorrow, etc.

    Lunch 12:30 P.M.

I usually eat lunch after my walk or now, stair climb. My lunch has gone from 6 inch subway to an apple and a banana to just an apple. So for the past two weeks I have been eating nothing but an apple for lunch. lol I know it’s weird but it’s actually very filling and I don’t feel hungry at all afterward.

    Dinner 5:30 P.M.

Dinner consist of different stuff, mainly vegetable stir-fry with low oil. Sometimes I steam my vegetables and I replaced protein from chicken, beef, pork to tofu, salmon, and cob. I also have a salad. Well, not your traditional salad; they are seasoned pinto bean, red bean salad with celery, radish, and pepper, or my favorite, season seaweed. My whitey roommate, however, hates my new diet. =D I dropped rice and he loves my rice, he tells me I make the best rice in the world. Mooching bastard. Oh and I don’t eat bread, never have and don’t really care for it.

If you haven’t figured it out, I’m asian. =P

6 years too old to be an ABC and 16 years too old to be a FOB, though my friend Maylee taught me you are never too old to be a FOB. Hah

So that’s my meal routine. Again, I’m not counting calories and I’m 6’6.

I went to that bodybuilding forum and checked it out. It’s like trying to learn a new language.

They measure EVERTYING. From body fat to food in grams and what the hell is 40/30/30?

I don’t really want to get involved in something that complicated.

Finally, my ankle has gotten a lot better when I started swimming, though it still sore when I walk. I found a gym last week and its YWCA LOL. Yes, I’m a proud member of the YWCA XD

I don’t know why but I find it hilarious since first I don’t have a vagina and second I’m not a Christian. But hey, this place is open for the general public so who cares.

The reason why I picked this gym instead of all the competitors was very simple. They have a huge heated indoor pool, which is a rare find around here and just what I have been looking for. Furthermore, they have . . . clean individual shower stalls. I’m sold!

But I guess I made my final decision on joining the league of Christian young women based on the atmosphere. I don’t feel intimidated here since their members consisted of the old, the fat, and the forgotten. Sure the idea of sharing a pool with a 80 year old grandma seem kind of disturbing but for a leaner body . . . . it’s a price I’m willing to pay.

Anyways, $40 for membership and $36 for my first month; I didn’t get the annual pass; I wanted to try it out for now. It seems pretty good so far. I go swimming every morning at 5:30-6:00 A.M. Funny nobody is around, I get the entire pool all for myself. Oh and the monthly pass also get me into their weight room (I haven’t seen it.), basketball court, yoga class, tai chi glass, and pilates.

Too bad I don’t have enough confidence to join the yoga class. So for now, YogaTube will be my instructor.

Speaking of Yoga, this is my week’s triumphant accomplishment!

I can touch my toes!!!! FUCK YEAH!

I know it might sounds stupid or even mediocre for you skinny people but for us obese ass, this is the greatest accomplishment since cheesecake. Besides, I’m 6’6, touching my toes or the ground while standing up is phenomenal. lol

So, until next week’s weighing! See you guys later.

Oh and my 5th week’s goal is going to be 3 lbs. I’m going to try to tone it down a little but keep the same routine. No more add-ons.

    Jazz,

You have to keep updating us

I myself want to get into better shape and have started doing so recently. After reading your posts, its given me some motivation.

I'm going for 30lbs, and its been rough so far. Its hard to give up my Taco Bell habit, but so far I'm fighting the urge.

If anything I'd say you're eating too little calories, but if you're losing weight, then keep at it. You may find yourself in the coming weeks/months starting to plateau. Once that happens I can help with more specific advice.

Your choice of food seems pretty fit though.

500-750 calories, sometimes 1k off of your normal intake of calories.

500 is usually the standard and will help you lose 1 pound of fat a week. That is without exercise really. Throw on top of that your metabolism helping burning fat if you do exercise and you can easily lose a lot of weight.

well it might not be relevant to whats being discussed in here atm but it seems the majority of the runners are posting here so instead of starting a new thread i'll just add this on here ^^.

I'm planning on running the Las Vegas marathon this year in December. I'm not that great a runner but I completed both the novice and intermediate 5k training regiments in "Run less Run Faster (3+2 program)" and there's still quite a few months to train till then, so I figure I could probably get in good enough shape to at least finish it. My question is not so much about training but about gadgets for training. I was using the NikeID censor on my ipod to track my runs but since I cant use Nike shoes anymore (switched to asics after I got my running stride analyzed) I'm looking for an alternative to it. I looked around and found these watches https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=142, I like that they're not only more accurate at tracking pace/distance due to them using gps but they also have heart rate/calorie consumption etc etc.. anyways, Anyone have experience with these type of watches? worth it? any better/cheaper brands you'd recommend? I want to run outside more and these training schedules require you to run very precise distances and paces.

Other than that... anyone else thinking about running vegas? I heard last years was shitty but a new group is managing this race (elite racing) and they're changing the course to begin/end at the strip + be flatter so people break their PRs and its also a qualifier for boston!

Are you talking about the small oval Nike sensor that you are supposed to put in your shoes and it links with your iPod? I have that but don't have Nike shoes. Go to Best Buy and in the iPod section where you find the cases they have a small neoprene sleeve that fits the sensor and you velcro it to your shoe laces. Costs like 10 bucks. Works like a charm.

What does the Nike thing do? Never used the Nike Sensor. Don't even own an Ipod anyway. It'd be largely useless to me since of about 4 pairs of shoes in the rotation, only 1 pair are Nike's and they aren't even Nike+ ready, but it does pique my curiosity. The Forerunner 305 is a fantastic watch. You can get them pretty cheap from online stores. Probably less than $175. Has the heart rate monitor, GPS, and displays about all the vital info you would need. Also comes with software to track it all on the PC.

    Crossfit.com.

I use a variety of crossfit workouts and army special ops training programs.

Give your body plenty of rest between workouts, but when you are working out: Dont half ass it.

The Nike sensor syncs with my iPod Touch (and works with other iPods). It keeps track of distance, time ran, current MPH, and if you set it on a certaiin program (distance, time, calorie) it will alert your through your headphones of the distance ran/left/etc. And when you update your iPod, it sends the info to nike.com and you can log in to see your previous runs/stats.

I really enjoyed it. As a first time runner it helped keep me interested and to gauge my performance. I don't have a pair of Nike+ ready shoes but it doesn't matter with their being many after-market attachments available for sale.

I don't suppose you could share some of those special ops programmes?
I used to train with a couple of insane dudes back in the air force, and used to be half dead loong before they were half done, much to their amusement. it's almost a decade ago and I can't remember much of the details anymore, it'd be fun to have something like that to strive towards again.

If you're somewhat skinny and start excercising/working out, you really need to force yourself to eat more. I gained 2 kilos the first year and 10 kilos the second, using pretty much the same routine, but changed diet.

40/30/30 is a term they use to describe foods with a caloric ratio of 40% From carbohydrates, 30% from fats, and 30% from protein.

Here's a good site that tells you all the foods that are it: Foods with Caloric Ratio near 40:30:30 (Carbohydrates : Fats : Protein)

If you can avoid these foods all together, great. But if you want to splurge one day, try to at least get some of these.

Sounds like you're doing great if you can keep it up Keep it going!
