For future reference, what makes the tests come out "Diluted" is a lower than "Normal" Creatine level in your body. So since this drink was filled to hell with it, binge the fuck on water next time. (Unless you already knew this. In which case you are probably fine.) Back when I use to smoke everyday I had to get tested by a rehab facility to see if I needed to go, All I did was drink a fuck ton of water and take a Creatine supplement and I passed it.
One guy that I used to work with got busted when they caught him using a black Whizzinator. He's white.
This, it's not hard to say "shit, I need a job, better lay off the weed for a couple weeks." I <3 my pot but ultimately, you gotta be able to make the cash to buy it to deserve to enjoy it. (A side point, I sympathize with you OP.)
Interesting. My friend swears by working out and using creatine just before drug tests (to get by with pot in his system). He's given me some ridiculous numbers as far as time elapsed between toke -> test.
Your friend is a tard, but how did they catch him? Every test I've taken put you in a bathroom with no (easily visible) camera.
Just say you were visiting your friend in California who happens to need medicinal marijuana, and you were exposed to 2nd-hand smoke.
Do you happen to have the ingredient list? It most likely wasn't a "detox" but a "masker".
edit: My guess is the drink most likely contained vitamin B-12 and creatine.
The B-12 is for color and the creatine is because the body naturally produces it in small doses. Creatine being present in your sample will most likely what gets you over the dilution problem.
I wouldn't worry if I were you.
Maybe some of the people unfamiliar with the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of second-hand smoke could do with a read -- however, I believe the person who suggested it may have been banking on the ignorance of those handling the testing.
Of course, considering the level of knowledge required to actually deduce and determine the results of such testing...
EDIT: Also, I completely forgot to add in one of the very things I came to this thread for, which is that the detox kits are basically snake oil. Don't use them. http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=4934
I sympathize with you. I think testing for marijuana is a huge invasion of privacy. It's funny that a problem drinker is ten times more likely to be a detriment to the company, both directly and indirectly through increased health insurance costs, than a dude who smokes the occasional joint - but, because marijuana is illegal, they'll test for that and all the alcoholics can keep their jobs. (well ok, that's not entirely true, even if alcohol were illegal it doesn't stay in your system long enough to show up on most tests more than a few days later. but still)
@Dimmauk: We send them to a some company to take a piss, then that company mails us the results. So it can take 5-7 days to get the results.
@Yuri: I think it's a bullshit test too. I don't see how you could fire someone for testing positive for alcohol.
My company doesn't really care about the results, we just need a clean test on file just in case JHACO needs to see their records (which rarely happens). I don;t think anyone has ever failed one, but we would probably just tell them to clean up for a week and take it again.
Assuming the test was taken during work hours then above a certain level of booze in your piss would suggest you where drinking on the job would it not?
I know I am going to get fired if I ever get drug tested. My work uses this swab in your mouth and I really doubt there are any counter measures for that. Maybe bleach but I am not sure how much I would want that job over my life..
My sister's work tests for drugs, alcohol and tobacco.
So far no news, so no news is good news.
Also, in the employee hand book:
Testing:
If the Company suspects that an employee’s on-the-job performance may have been
adversely affected in any way by drugs or alcohol, or that an employee has otherwise
violated this policy, the employee may be required to submit to a breath, saliva, urine
and/or blood sample for alcohol or drug testing. The employee will be in violation of this
policy, if the employee tests positive for alcohol or drugs during this testing.
Whenever an employee is involved in an accident in the performance of expected job
duties involving a fatality, serious bodily injury, or any level of property damage, the
Company may require the employee to submit to a breath, saliva, urine and/or blood
specimen for alcohol testing or drug testing. The employee will be in violations of this
policy if tests for drugs or alcohol are positive.
The Company reserves the right to drug test pre-employment, random, post injury/incident
and/or at any time there appears to be a situation of reasonable suspicion.
If an employee tests positive for alcohol or drugs, the employee will be given the
opportunity to explain the tests results before any action is taken.
Bolded for hope if I do test positive.
I actually had a question regarding this as well...
I've been on Suboxone for a while now, prescribed by my psychiatrist for opiate addiction treatment. I'm pretty sure Suboxone is one of the things they test for in standard employment drug screenings so I'm wondering, if I test positive, what the ramifications would be for my employment. Would it be legal for a workplace to bar me for seeking addiction treatment? Can they bar you if you have a valid script? Do I have to explain myself etc?
I guess it kinda worries me that a job could see the presence of suboxone as past history of abuse of other drugs and decide not to hire me.
Suboxone doesn't really show up what so ever. It is very small in opiates, even less then vicoden in which isn't something they worry over as well. I take 16-20 Suboxone a day and it has never showed up.
If anything, employment is happy to see you taking it as it is to help you. And there is nothing they could ever do or say about it. Unless of course you don't have a doctor to vouch for you.
As for drug test. It normally gets done within the first day you send the test on most cases. But places like to dick around and say it will take a week before you get results. But in all actuality, your test went through within the first 24 hours. Prolly even just a few hours after you left.
And yeah, I've never heard of a place that let you wait 24 hours. When I hire people in I give them directions to the nearest hospital and they get a few hours to get there from the interview. If not then I guess they don't want the job.
