I tanked in 1,000 HP, and better than, well, who am I kidding, everyone I ever had the opportunity to cooperatively tank with.
More so on topic, Ultima is a joke. If you have shitty mages, have Chainspell ready for when they let you get hit by Colossal Blow, because realistically speaking, if they can't handle Stunning, they probably can't handle tanking(or have the common sense to be /NIN, for that matter). If you have good mages, don't fall asleep.

Earth staff is kinda useless on this figh since you won't get hit physically, should only be used in a full dmg reduction for when shadows are down, although I'm sure a full spell interrupt down/ setup will do better. Only move that will dmg you is magic type that ignore shadows.

Well regardless, its still just as accurate, simply swap 'Colossal Blow' for 'Dissipation'. Ultima is just as much of a joke, if not more so, due to Citadel Buster not being a complete hate reset.
terra's isn't useless. it has 2 physical WS that you can't always anticipate or have shadows up for them.
spell interrupt down is one of the dumbest things i've heard. you do realize rdm doesn't have native ninjutsu skill, right? -interrupt does nothing for utsu (for rdm). if you get hit while casting, you will get interrupted. and if you don't, then your -interrupt gear didn't cause it.
Green i see your like to parse fights - i would be interested to see any enmity and damage taken outputs from your Ultima fight as i have never tanked it on Rdm.
I tank when i can on Rdm, only differences i see are
1. FULL phy reduction def set "o shit macro" (where i also macro in a cheap stoneskin)
2. barfire set (for ks99 and tiamat) - which see some good results and will soon be a lot easier to carry around xD
3. Shadows i always macro in partial phy reduction

As far as magic interruption down gears go for shadows .. well you could slot in a few items..., i personally just try to keep Aquaveil up when i can, how much has it actually helped ? Well i "feel" it has a few times but i cant give you a mathematical % to its success ;;
To be fair Stoneskin+Phalanx are your best friends for interrupts and im in the habit of recasting a fresh capped stoneskin pretty regular and this way found i get very few ichi;s stopped and its nice when you see you still have 400+ HP left after Omegas "boot to the face" hate reset moves xD
Yea if my LS lead lets me do it I'll try parsing it. I'm not exactly sure which parser would show that information though.

Not counting aquaveil or merits, RDM can get -118% spell interruption rate. I dont think there's a hard cap, or if there is, its 95%+, with all that on you will very rarely get interrupted. It's not useless at all o:
