Late to the Vista x64 + FFXI Party...

Yep, as the title says I'm just now about to upgrade my machine to Vista Home Premium x64, and I'm looking to find out if there's anything I should expect to go wrong/funny afterwards with POL or FFXI. I did a forum search and unfortunately it gave me a bunch of random crap threads that didn't help at all.. except that there's a special version of POL needed for Vista or x64 (it was hard to tell). Didn't find anything on SE's website either.

Windower I think I've got figured out - I'm just gonna go straight to the 3.42 beta. Video card won't be a problem either since I have a Radeon 4870.

Go to playonline.com and find the POL you need, install that before installing the other one you may have on disk (I didn't know there was a different one and after hours of updating the original POL i realised i had to do it again).

Then that should be it to be honest, ive had no real problems.

I use 3.41 fine on vista 64 ultimate. with the same video card.

If you do end up experiencing a crash on play issue, then i would use the .42 beta, but i'm sticking with .41 since i have no issues (until .42 is final that is)
