From what I have been reading the majority of guns that have been purchased since the election have been purchased by existing gun owners. I personally have only bought one extra gun over what I had already been planning for and it is a kid size single shot .22 in pink for my daughter. Saw it at the store and wife made me get it.

As for this case, like said before, shit happens. My cousin was out hiking 3 weeks ago and slipped and fell off a cliff. Her face is now deformed, she has no ability to remember anything, and will probably spend the rest of her life in a hospital bed. Guess I should rally for a ban on hiking.

Don't get me wrong, gun crimes will still happen, but you will have to be truly dedicated to your cause to manage to get a gun and do some shit compared to now.

Most murders are "spur of the moment" kind of thing. Remove one of the most efficient and effortless killing tool, and you will lower murder rate considerably. Anger doesn't last forever, and anything that can delay the act will reduce its chance of happening
