After waiting an ungodly amount of time since ordering my Token I've finally decided to try and contact SE about why the hell I haven't got it yet. I raised a ticket with them and received their typical "phone or webchat about XXX" response. As I'd rather not phone them, I decided I'd try webchat, but for the life of me I can't figure out where the hell it is. I've been looking on the EU support website, https://support.eu.square-enix.com/ for the last half an hour and have found no indication of this webchat shit.

Anybody have any ideas or am I going to have to phone them tomorrow?

If one is interested in buying a second security token with the same POL account that was used to purchase the first one, is this even possible? I've tried several times but I keep getting some error message about "reaching the upper limit", whatever that means. Is there no way to order another token?

Its because you already bought a token on your account, theres a one token per account limit. Thats not to say you can't buy/use a token for that account, you just have to have another account buy it for you and ship it to you. Stupid eh? lol.

Some info on the security tokens if anyone is interested. Not sure if any of this has been posted before but worth a read i guess.

    http://www.vasco.com/products/digipa...ipass_go6.aspx

    Executive Summary

    DIGIPASS GO6

DIGIPASS GO 6 is a ‘one-button’ authenticator, based on VASCO’s proven DIGIPASS technology. Banks and other organizations can effectively combat internet fraud by replacing static or paper based password systems, using DIGIPASS GO 6. http://www.vasco.com/Images/DP-Go-6.jpg

    Easy to Use

With a single press of the button, DIGIPASS GO 6 displays a dynamic one-time password for each time a user remotely logs into an application, website or network. The user enters this one-time password in the login screen of the application. An additional password, as a second factor of authentication, can also be applied to eliminate unauthorized use if the device is lost or stolen.

Once the unit has been initialized and provided to the user, costly user training is unnecessary.

As user acceptance is crucial for the success of security implementations, DIGIPASS GO 6 is extremely easy to use. The user simply presses one-button to generate a one-time password to remotely log into an application, website or network. The elegant design of DIGIPASS GO6 can be enhanced with your corporate logo, branding and custom colors. A transparent lens protects your logo and branding from normal wear and tear.

    Easy to Deploy

The integration of DIGIPASS GO 6 into an existing network is simple and goes fast. Static passwords or existing TAN lists (pre-printed lists of TransAction Numbers) can instantly be replaced with the more secure DIGIPASS GO6 dynamic password.

DIGIPASS GO6 is fully interoperable with all members of the DIGIPASS family and works seamlessly with VASCO’s VACMAN or IDENTIKEY authentication service products and over 50 different VASCO partner applications.

With DIGIPASS and VACMAN/ IDENTIKEY, banks and other organizations can economically deploy a comprehensive, scalable, high performance two factor authentication solution for secure internet banking and network access.

You can't link the account you bought to your existing SE account.

They're permanent. You can get the old SE account reactivated if you call them.

Have they made any announcements about when/if they plan to restock them? Been trying to get one but they are always sold out.

Has anyone like...tried using a wow token for ffxi?

They are basically the same right? There is at least a chance they might work for ffxi I would guess, chances of Square restocking them are small to say the least.

By that logic, we should be able to access any of the multitudes of corporations using vasco digipasses to protect their dataz.

edit in case it wasn't clear enough: No.

How does that follow logically? Like, at all?

All these things do is authenticate an account. You need to have an account in the first place for them to be of any use. WoW and FFXI tokens are literally the same device, the question is whether FFXI's token registration process will recognize the serial numbers of WoW tokens.

The token is linked to a specific account. So lets say, for the sake of argument, that you could use your WoW authenticator in place of a FFXI security token. This would indicate that there was no such limitation on what accounts it could be used for.

Lets look at how this could be used by evildoers. The token is used (for example) as an extra layer of security against anyone who, by whatever means, has obtained your username and password. What's being proposed here is that any Tom, Dick or Harry could, for instance, keylog some poor sap's account info over at Megaconglomocorp(TM), and use the little authenticator he got for free when he went to Blizzcon last year to access all their sensitive materials.

Aaaaand after typing all this I realize they probably mean an authenticator that hasn't already been linked to an account. Go me.

No, they couldn't, not any more than someone could keylog a FFXI account and use their own token as a substitute for the player's.

You're right, it's my fault I assumed you drew the logical conclusion that this guy was asking whether he could buy a token from blizzard and link it to his FFXI account when you really drew some out-there conclusion that the guy was asking whether or not every token generated the same number if pressed at the same time.

Please forgive the iPhone message in advance...

I could not find the info I was lookin for in the Token thread so here goes:

I linked my acct to SE as was necessary to take advantage in that Bonanza a little while ago (I have no Token) ... Everything is fine for me, however I am not able to log on at from my friends PS (coincidently, his acct is not linked as he still uses the Playonline acct/password) ... Before I linked my acct, i was able to log in from his PS3 just fine

How do i log in on my friends PS now?? Does he need to link his acct to SE also? Or what do I do to allow me to log in from his location?

Again, sorry for the iPhone! And thank you!
