I assume that when you get into your SE account for deactivating the one-time password protection, it requires you an one-time password.

That's why if our token gets broken or lost, we don't have any chance to deactivate the one-time password, and we have to contact the customer support center, prove our identity and make them deactivate it for us.

This is written quite clearly in the walls of text you have to confirm before purchasing the token. ^^'b

You act like people read those things, if they did we wouldn't have people having worries like that or trying to justify their cheating and etc.

If you activate the one time password on your account, you will be forced to set the POL option to "use" until you log into your SE account and disable it. If you could simply set it to do not use, that wouldn't provide much security would it?

Once you activate the keychain, you will also need it for your SE account as well. That way RMT can't just login to your account and disable it.

I'm gonna ask this even tho it doesn't look like I'll need but, original codes aren't needed correct? I have all but the original for FFXI and RoZ due to a flood. I haven't ordered mine yet in case I need these and I'm boned out of 80 spaces thanks to Mother Nature.

You don't need codes, whoever said that you do didn't know wtf they were doing. (Granted you heard you needed them from someone.)

Well, I think people wanted to be able to have at least SE PW saved. Retyping one-time PW from the token makes sense, but retyping the same SE PW every time you log in is kinda too redundant.

And seriously, I know we are much safer with the token, but if somehow the security on your computer is pretty weak and RMTs are able to get your SE account ID and PW (with w/e technique they use to get your POL ID and PW), they can still just log in to your SE account and "deactivate" the token, log in to you POL account with the POL ID, SE ID and SE PW, and will be able to steal your stuff anyway. I would recommend everyone to keep their SE account ID super secret and not picking some obvious name like your in-game character name or anything like that.

dont see any posts about this... but anyone hwo logged into the system knows that once you get the one time PW going you will have to enter it into the SE account. so no they can not deactivate it like that >.> that be one big ass noob thing for SE to do and people on BG would of bitched about it last night.

as i would of lol. you need the token to log onto your account on playonline.com as well once you change it to *use*

You DO NOT need your FFXI code for the security token. You DO need it to activate or reactivate Content IDs if you ever need more mules or take a break from playing and come back. SquareEnix can tell you your codes if you call the support center and verify ownership of the account.

No. They stated this in the FAQ about the security token and SE Members account. It intentionally cannot be saved as a matter of security. This provides two layers. Only you will know your password, and only your token can generate the one time password. If someone takes/finds your token, they aren't going to know the other password, so having it not saved on your machine (especially if it's a laptop and you lose it) can keep your account from being accessed via auto-login.

*Your Square Enix password cannot be saved to the hard disk.

Don't think you HAVE to...if you just want to register the token for the satchel, there's nothing saying you have to use the SE Password, I don't think anyway.

I'm guessing that it does matter that one is NA and one is EU. You shouldn't be able to link an EU POL account to an NA SE account and vice versa.

Yes, you can be logged into two POL accounts at the same time that are linked to the same SE account as long as they're the same region. If you find otherwise post here and I'll add it to the OP, but I really don't think they're gonna let you link two different account types.

I am gonna throw this out there and see if there is an answer.
I am on 360. I never put my pol id/pw online with a PC without 1st changing it to RMTsuck123
Then I change it back to a real one when I am doing doing what ever on the PC.

Now to the question. Can someone buy the token, get the code for the satchel, and not use the token?

Might sound silly but I like to just hit play online viewer and it goes right to the shortcut to go play the game. I often just start it up when I get home from work and go start some food while it is starting up.
