I got my seeds starting from Closter and running towards the entrance. I did this cause I got aggro and had to zone.

I saw a NQ sword belt with DEX+2 STR+2, not bad I guess lol
I'll partially agree with that there is every possible augment combination exists in the game, but as far as the order and pattern in which they are generated, I still firmly believe that no amount of influence will change or force a desired result.
Read through this entire thread; people have gotten different results with and w/o same stats/jobs/day/time/weather/etc.
Don't get me wrong, if someone does figure out a pattern, if there is one, to this whole augment system, I will be more than glad to tip my hat off to them, but until then, I'll stick to my belief; random is random~
I think you misunderstand randomness. The fact that the possibility of a pattern exists does not mean that it is possible for us to comprehend the pattern. When I say something is random, I dont mean that it is outside causality, I mean that the causes for it happening are outside the realm of my possible comprehension.
And I have totally given up on trying to convince people that this augmentation system is random. Ill stick to bashing direction/weather crafters.

Yeah...I'm bored in class.
posted in wrong thread. Deleted this post and moved it over to the ANNM Augments & Discussion thread.
You don't understand what random means. Your suggestion is that given enough time some things will happen again.
The term random refers to the predictability of events from that which existed prior to the event not the fact that over time some things will repeat.
If you have a fair 2-headed coin, you can predict with a degree of certainty that with a sufficiently large number of flips, the coin will land with some statistical range 50% on either side over the course if the flips. That can be repeated.
You are suggesting that an unfair coin, given enough flips, will at some time, during eternity, have a pattern of random flips over an extended period of time.
The first is random because I can predict with precision that I can repeat the same test and reach statistically similar results, while the second is not because I can't predict with any precision how long it will take before the random pattern repeats.
4 Rainbow Obi's doing the same order of glows, 3 Steel Ingots making the same mistake from my usual order.
Yeah, that's pretty goddamn random.
1. Infinity does not exist except as a mathematical artifact, it is a sign that your mathematics are incomplete, yet self consistent. If you produce an infinite answer relating to a real world quantity, you fucked up your math somewhere. There is nothing infinite in this Universe.
2. Video games don't do true randomness, they have a limited amount of inputs and outputs they can produce, there is an upper limit on the possible amount of calculations you could perform using the absolute maximum amount of possible quantum states of the Universe, related to the Bekenstein Bound, which is something like 10 ^83 calculations. Not even a Googol, not infinite, not random.
3. I've gotten the same result doing the same thing 4 times, gotten another result doing a slightly altered thing 3 times.
If it was only possible to get Rainbow Obi's and Steel Ingots, it would be like flipping a coin.
As it is, something I'm doing is influencing this outcome somehow, whether it is something we as a player base can manipulate and control or not is uncertain, and that is what I'm endeavoring to discover.
just because something happened to you 4 times...then 3 times a diff. way doesn't make it a pattern. i do the exact same run every day since the expansion and have never gotten two of the same items back to back. i've gotten all sorts of shitty augmented gear and quite a few sellables...but never the same thing back to back. you're really searching way too hard here for some glimmer of hope that will just leave you unsatisfied and unfulfilled...but maybe you can make a math equation to fix it.
Having an answer one way or another will leave me satisfied, that is why I love science.
I'm not desperately hoping to find a way to crank out Beak Mantles, but if there is any way to influence it, I'd like to know that I've tested all the variables I can control.
Simply writing it off as "well it looks random, so it just is" would leave me unsatisfied and unfulfilled.
Most of the information I'm seeing is from the Ivory and Ebon Keys...
Given, the FoV augments are well, lacking, but, has anyone come to a conclusion on whether one should pop an NM closest to the level of the equipment they want to augment? Is there any correlation between level and usefulness of augments?
It looks like everyone's wrote off FoV augments as total waste of time, but I'm interested in a little bit of info on where would be best to try and augment a lvl40 Qiqirn Sash +1... Behemoth, Dragon, or Tiger?
Forgive me if I just missed the info sifting through 34 pages of ACP yay's and boo's.
something very unlikely happend today when trading my qu bia arena key for earrings.
"you cannot obtain the item, come back after sorting your inventory", my invo was not full, I just kept two saphire earrings on me that i got previously. immediatly clicked the chest again and got a crafting mats. sorry if its old news but it is interesting to note.
It might be pure luck but I traded all my keys froms Fei'yin as mnk/blu and got 5 melee earrings and 1 mages earring (the best one : mac2 mnd2), and 3 of the earrings were with vit/eva. I guess you get more chance at a melee earring when on a melee job?
I am not saying that there is no order associated with the glows, but the whole (X Job, X Level, X Day, X Weather, X etc) is just foolish. If you can do the same pattern a thousand times and receive the same reward each time (knowing you can do it differently and achieve a different reward) you would be very certain of the correlation of glow order on output. In this case you are varying one variable and watching the outcome. This is good science.
However, the whole direction/day bullshit is just gambling tics. People like to create patterns to explain randomness. You must watch out for this as even the best scientists can fall prey to it. If you can honestly tell me that you get the same reward/similar series of augments when going as one specific job or on one specific day I will shut up, but so far that really does not seem to be the case. In Augmentations OR Crafting.
Bet you anything you have a vile elixir in your inventory/storage/whatever. This is what I do to at least force one damn thing not to drop, which slightly increases chance of gear drop instead. Since it's rare, you can only have one, which prevents the chest from pooping another at you.

Gold Ingot - Fuck this key
Are there any key items in this game that store any variable data within them whatsoever besides 1:[posess key item] and 0:[do not posess key item]? I have my doubts that upon zoning, there are any key items in the game that can have anything recorded within them... such as the order of Seed Afterglows you collected.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
The Miraculous Dale stores data from which monsters you've killed.
The Trainee Axe lumber collection in Jugner stores data proving the logs came from logging in Jugner.
Sure there are others I'm missing, those are just two off the top of my head.
Friend got on late, and then fucked up and hit Mark of Seed because we were chatting about Tenjo Tenge (I was explaining to him that there's more than just neat art and boobs, the story later on is pretty cool), so that fucked up what I was going to do.
We'll try the above mentioned example tomorrow, but interestingly I turned my key I collected on Firesday in on Earthday (had to hoof it out, missed the day change) and got... dun dun dun, an item I've never gotten before.
I've never turned in on Earthday either.
Beak Mantle, Str 2 Dex 1 Subtle Blow +1.
So the plot thickens.
