Agreed. The whole point was to possibly provide incentive to use otherwise underpowered gear, not to augment a Hauby to be better than an Adaberk. By making it random you open the possibility of making good armor better but you also provide a disincentive to try.

That's pretty much all it does. I might throw some crap gear at it in hopes of getting a real stat out of it, but the propensity towards negatives stats being mixed with positive ones makes me wary of doing so.

Point is the update details do not match what is being seen, so either they lied or there is more to it than hitting an NM 2 times to kill it.

Traded 18BS, 900g, and Swordbelt+1 to Parchment in Xarc. It took what was in tradebox 1 and ignored the rest. 18BS popped the Shadow Dragon NM and I got 1350 EXP for it.

If you're throwing cheap items, it's not that bad of a gamble. As long as you have the seals to waste that is. You could get a Copper Ring with 3% haste and like negative HP and negative Dark. Sure you might get complete crap augments, but the whole point was that you wouldn't wear that ring in the first place so that shouldn't matter.

Nah, that's just stupid to add real randomness there is probably a trick.
Think about it, why would a player so poor he could only afford shitty statless gear decide to be unable to sell his gear back to get his money back ?

Btw, if you can augment a hauby to the point it gets better than an adaberk, you can still upgrade the adaberk to keep it superior to hauby.

Seems you can't augment gear over level 50...the max elite regime is chapter4, which is gear up to level 50.

From what I can tell:

Intro, cap at level 5
Ch.1, cap at level 10
Ch.2, cap at level ??
Ch.3, cap at level 35
Ch.4, cap at level 50


I still want to know if Ex items can be traded, and if so, if Aug/Ex items can be traded (but we won't know that until tomorrow).

Except that you don't use seals. Moreover, I'm not really interested in farming Tags (I need those for Regen/Reraise, thanks). But let's suppose I take some Noct Gloves, a rather dull and inexpensive item, and try to augment them for my Ranger... only to end up several Tags poorer with a pair of Noct Gloves with +6 Light Resist, -2 AGI, -1 STR.

I gamble enough in this game hoping that things will drop. SE needs to stop this nonsense.

Curious just because of sniper +1s. If the cap is lv50 I think that makes sniper +1s the most valuable augmentable piece. That and PCC. Can't think of anything else..
