someone told me they went 0/12 how.... i went 2/2(on both accounts ~_~ once as a smn once as a rdm/blm lol) its not hard with the right set up.

reasons smn make this fight a joke.

having 2 smn means

you can deal 800-1800 dmg every 45sec with no hate probs, when the BP goes off if you leave your pet out for a sec it lets your pld heal himself too^^;

but really just grab 2 smns and its done ~_~

0/1 so far on this crystal, went in completely oblivious to what was
going to be bestowed in-front of us...

So we see the crystal, and everyone immediately things... zerg.
we fully buff up, get full MP, I rush up

Provoke -> flash -> 2hr.

right as I invincibled, the rng used EES, barrage, sidewinder, ate the wing
and sidewindered again. the sam was readying up his 2hr when we got hit
by it... boom their goes all our JA's unsure what to do at this point they
continue to zerg it... and then.. Charm...

D: their goes the RDM and WHM. the crystal fully regens, and we pretty
much wipe from that point.

we had a BLU/NIN for stun, and a RDM/DRK for stun that completly failed
at their job as I told them, dont stop stunning untill a seed clone pops
then blu takes it out.

failed to do so, it pops a clone of our rng, and it rapes the shit out of me
and the other person who was still alive D:

I think we just got very unlucky with the fight. I read on the clopedia
discussion that the tank should be running off to the side and drawn in
this reduces that chances of being charmed is this true?

also the sam suggested that the rng stand in the NE cornor of the room.

what do you all have to say about the general idea setup the sam wanted
the rng to do, and can anyone confirm that being drawn in over and over
again can reduce the chances of him casting charm on the group?

Finally beat this damn thing. Went with PLD, RNG, RNG, SCH, SMN, WHM.

There were a few close calls, but we made it through in the end. clear time of 24 minutes.

I did get charmed a couple times, which is a first for me since the previous attempts I never got charmed. There were a couple deaths but we were able to recover. Thank god for pots and drinks.

Also, spoilers but I had a quick question about the ending.

Twilight god means Promathia right..? I haven't finished CoP, but I assume the bit where it talks about Altana shattering the crystal to turn her beloved twilight or whatever in to the 5 races was referring to the CoP storyline?

What was that bit about a daughter of the past weaving her own ode..? Is that referring something that went over my head? WoTG?

Also, liked the touch at the end with all the adventurers around Aldo and his family, much like the younger Aldo and the forces coming back to Tavnazia in the opening movie

Had to watch my fiance deal with one of the world's most stupid THFs the other day (he got roped into helping a friend do the fight again) who, as well as running up and chipping away at the crystal with his daggers when he'd been told to be on clone claim/kill/stay the fuck back out of mischief duty, was insisting that SMN were worthless for the fight and that RNG and SAM/RNG were the ONLY jobs that were allowed to be brought.... quite where he was going to factor himself into this equation was beyond me, but he was in Whitegate half an hour later shouting for X-bow bolts and on a level 5 RNG two minutes after that.

Edit: Watching the crystal repeatedly try to clone Garuda is funny in a sadistic way as well.

We also had the guy shouting in WG for an aegis pld to go tank it for him cos he was 0/12 or something like that as well.

I wanted to redo the last mission for more keys. I climbed up got the stones again etc etc. But when I beat the bc I didn't get a key again. >_>;

Any ideas?

Possibly a glitch, Kuno. Try to get another Ominis Stone or check your Key items if you still have one.

I don't know if this has been mentioned or known, but it seems people who don't have the Add-on /can/ participate in the BCs (both Fei'yin and Stellar Fulcrum)

As far as I understand, the Ebon key is only for the three armours.
The last mission is only repeated to change out your body which has to be thrown away prior to entering the battle.

Also, the add-on was designed so that anyone can participate in the battles, however, only those with the add-on can reap the rewards.

Prismatic key is the armour one, not ebon.

Yeah, I know someone who redid the mission. They only got the ebony key item when they got their prismatic key for their body. They had to throw away the body first.

So if you want an ebony key you have to throw the body out first.

I don't know if SE intended this, but thats how it goes.

I haven't redone the mission yet, so I can only go on what I've heard from others. :/

I have redone Ebon Key 3 times already after I've obtained Nuevo's through Prismatic. You do not need to throw your body away. You can obtain Ebnon Key every 24 hours after JP midnight and turn it in whenever you please. There is no penalty to hanging onto the key whatsoever. What happened to Kuno sounds more like a glitch.

It might just be your posession of a Prismatic Key that is throwing a wrench in the gears. You don't have to toss any armor to re-obtain Ebon Keys. Simply: an Omnis Stone + Seed Crystal fight = Ebon Key and some exp. If you tossed your ACP body, then you'll get a Prismatic Key again... which sounds like your problem. Pick an armor already!

My friend has a similar problem, he has a Prismatic Key from a previous fight but didnt choose a body yet, and went to help a friend to get another Ebon Key too, but didnt get it. He wanted me to post these for whatever reason lol.
