Enmity test on cura would be interesting. If it's fixed hate like cure 5, it might be pretty good for that kind of situation

God I love Kaeko.
They always come back! And Kaeko coming back makes me pleased.
Ashira basically is there to test everything on my LJ except the damage formulas (which probably would have made her go insane because she'd have been standing there for days). I sense she wants some well-deserved recognition so... ashira ashira ashira ashira ashira ashira ashira <3<3<3<3
As far as Cura goes, I think it may prove to be very strong in those stand and eat damage type battles (Einherjar KB boss - use after every inevitable meteor, for example). The fact that the hate on it does not directly ramp up with the number of targets hit or cured makes it incredibly unique and essentially a variable AoE cure 5. I noticed that the casting time was pretty horrid though, so maxing out cure time with merits, clogs, and FC seem important to a build like this though, but hey, I'M NOT A WHM.
Afflatus Misery + Auspice testing, part II (we'll call it "mispice")
----
For this test, I used Easy Prey where before it was Too Weak. I thought that might make a difference.
Desert Manticore Lv.57 (easy prey, each of the three tested gave 40 exp, so should all be Lv.57)
Using Trainee Knife again, but this time as WHM75/BLM37 (for 101 skill), and I got within one point of changing from "high eva/def" to just "high def"
I checked him every now and then, but most importantly every time I missed, just like before I would immediately spin around and /check.
"high eva/def" (no change)
But here's the interesting part! I killed him using just the knife with Mispice up 100% of the time, and I just never seemed to miss, despite him being high eva (doesn't that mean ~60% hit rate?!)
The first one took 255 swings (247 hits and 8 misses) for about 96.86%
The second one took 261 swings (246 hits and 15 misses) for about 94.25%
Third one, without mispice, no buffs! 506 swings (474 hits and 32 misses) for about 93.67%
*took forever, after 500 swings he was at about 1/3 life, and I was reeeeeeally bored so I zoned and stopped
----
So here's the part where I ask for help :/
I really feel like I'm doing something wrong -- I always thought level correction and all that, everything, was figured into the "high evasion" message -- that I really shouldn't be getting over 90% in any of these cases? I know it's still not a very big sample, but still!
Should I just find someone who can parse me, at this point?
I really wanna know how best to test this -- was it a mistake to use Easy Prey? (I don't understand.) (Please assist.)
Level Correction is never factored into /Check messages, which is what makes them ideal for finding a mob's stats, and it's also why you can have an IT mob check Low Evasion or Defense and still suck against it.I really feel like I'm doing something wrong -- I always thought level correction and all that, everything, was figured into the "high evasion" message -- that I really shouldn't be getting over 90% in any of these cases? Under some circumstances people get an Acc Bonus against very weak targets...I have my suspicions it may be Signet, but I don't know for sure. I recall that once, a 75 WAR friend of mine used Blinding Potions (which supposedly give Acc -256; I can confirm that the effect is insanely potent and is over -200) against West Altepa spiders right outside Rabao and still managed a 95% hit rate against them.
It's still rather odd, though, because the Acc -> Hit Rate relationship was found by testing on EP and DC mobs first, and THEN trying Ts to figure out the effects of level correction. Try again without Signet, and if not, try DCs or EMs?
There is a global accuracy cap of 95%. If you're hitting mobs for 95% before your tests even begin, it's pointless.
That's the thing, though, with the mob /checking High Evasion, she shouldn't have been hitting the 95% hit rate cap.
So safe to say that the Accuracy bonus you receive from Auspice is completely hidden? I dont see any other reason why monsters conning as High Evasion but you hitting it with above 70% hit rate besides that.
Edit: Hitting high evasion monsters as we speak right now with Auspice on
I don't know how open your LS friends are to letting your merit in a party as WHM but if the checking method isn't working then do this.
1) Go merit on Colibri with your LS friends. Don't eat any food and don't get madrigal. Merit for 30 mins and parse your accuracy results.
2) Start using misery/auspice for the next 30 mins and check the totals that way.
been doing testing on solace + barspells and something is wrong (in a good way)
base damage taken (73 INT and 16% trait Magic Defense Bonus only)
and I have lv2 barspell merits for 4% Shell was not used.
Fire IV
No buffs: 640 damage taken
Barfira: 569
Solace+Barfira: 540
Firaga III
no buffs: 740
Barfira: 685
Solace Barfira: 650
Solace is adding a 5% MDB to the barspells but somehow my basic Barspell is reducing damage by 8-12%
I can't figure this out, but maybe SE added an effect of MDB to barspells or barspell merits are bugged to be stronger
Were you wearing Blessed Briault whilst giving the non-Solace Barfira? Because that gives an MDB bonus to Barspells in the same fashion.
don't own one
all macro equip changes were disabled I was wearing
Apollo's staff/ bugard strap/ / white thaltum
Cleric's Cap/ Orochi Nodowa/ Moldavite Ear/ Locq. Ear
Noble's tunic/ Hlr mitts+1/ Trooper ring/ omega ring
Rainbow Cape/ Hierarch belt/ Nashira legs/ Mahatma feet.
going back up there on rdm now to test without barspell merits, so just rdm's MDB/INT vs the fire IV/Firaga III let's see if s difference shows up
K just tested on rdm: 260 enhancing barfire 79 INT and 12% MDB trait only
Fire IV
no buffs: 589 damage
Barfire: 589 damage
barfire with +30 enhancing skill and +29 equiped fire resist, 83 INT: 576 damage (likely the difference of INT)
so seems like barspell merits are giving more MDB the intended? anyone with 5/5 barspell wanna go see what difference they're getting?
--------Edit----------
ok seems like I made an error earlier, it's possible that a day bonus was on for the damage taken without barspell, further testing has lower numbers so looks like the math is matching up right now, sorry for any confused I may have caused.
WHM vs
Fire IV
No buffs: 589 damage taken
Barfira: 569
Solace+Barfira: 540
Firaga III
no buffs: 704
Barfira: 685
Solace Barfira: 650
Either way, Solace addeds 5% MDB, I haven't read that anywhere in this thread yet so it's atleast something to add
The MDB+5 thing has been posted on FFXIClopedia since the 9th but I hadn't seen any data to back it up.
I'm having a bit of a hard time following your numbers, Vail. How many merits do you have into Barspell potency? 2? Also, this is with no MDB gear on your WHM, right?
yeah no MDB gear being worn on my whm, but the way I did this I would take an elemental and run from them until it casted what I wanted (alot of burn and flares annoyed me) sometimes they would deaggro and I'd have to tag a different elemental, and I know there is some level difference in them, so the numbers might not add up completely because INT might be different.
yes I have lv2 barspell merits
why don't you own a jse body!
same reason I don't have 5/5 barspell merits, I don't play whm for jack-shit, it was my first 75 so I still keep gear for it, but I play rdm(duelist/dalm) 90% of the time and blm/drg/thf/sch the other 10%
but I like helping find numbers for stuff, like the Solace-Holy bonus being x4 damage and the 5% on solace+barspell
