So Composure with /BLU doesnt make Coccon last longer?
So Composure with /BLU doesnt make Coccon last longer?
Specifically says only White and Black Magic get the duration increase.
Casting a spell without composure, then casting the same with composure gives a recast penalty of 25%. This is the same for a naked lv75RDM and a lv75RDM in full fastcast gear.
The one that is naked will have longer recasts than the one in full fastcast gear, but they both have a 25% penalty compared to their non-composure'd recasts.
I think what he's looking at is more like a "starting from zero" effect. A RDM, thanks to Fast Cast traits, is starting from negative recast. The end effect with Composure is having increased recasts from zero.
Only real testing I did was trying Reraise out, and saw a 1:06 recast. So my initial impression was similar...instead of getting a 10% reduction, under Composure, a RDM is getting a 10% increase (60 second base recast on that).
In thinking about it...perhaps testing Composure at level 50 cap (or, at least, 50-54 range to have Composure + only Fast Cast II) would reveal more specifically how this is being calculated? Is it something that's being applied as a blanket effect that native Fast Cast partially counters...or is it an effective reversal of the FC bonus?
The way it seemd to me was this.
Take your spell recast, no matter what your own fastcast drops it down to.
Add 25% to that number.
That's your recast with composure on instead of it off.
I'm not comparing it to the recast of a whm/blm with no recast gear, because that doesn't matter at all to me. I'm comparing me without composure on to me with composure on. Each time, it's a +25% recast time.
Not like we're talking about quantum physics here. It's just +25% recast time...
With 10% Haste on my equipment, I casted Reraise, the recast time came out to exactly 1 minute. The 20% penalty from Composure canceled out the 10% Haste and Fast Cast job traits perfectly.
RDM in salvage says haste isnt getting buffed by composure so SE may have ninja fixed that during the matinence.
Is he casting it on himself or other people? >____>;
60 seconds +20% is 72 seconds. Your recast with 10% Haste and Fast Cast 3 would then be 58.
Remember, Composure is being added after the new recast is calculated, hence the 25%.
Reraise recast with 10% Haste and Fast Cast 3 is 48 seconds. +20% to that and you have a 57 second recast whereas you're actually getting a 60 second recast.
It was worth testing, their translators aren't exactly spectacular. Esuna is a good reminder of that.![]()
My self-buffed Composure Haste is working <_< in Al'taieu at the moment if that means anything.
Consider it more like this: Fast Cast III (10% recast) is a .9 modifier to recast times.
A "20% increase" is adding .2 to that, so 1.1. -10% to 10% is a 20% difference.
The approximate result is pretty similar to what you'd get with a simple 25% recast time penalty.
After playing with a few things though, I'd say that the 25% seems more in line with the recast numbers I'm seeing. Some differ by a second or so, depending on how you do them, and when they do it seems to correspond more to that than to the 20% FC difference as described.
Still could have to do with in-game math/rounding, but meh >.>
Hey, you're welcome.
I helped too, gdi, Kaeko's not a whm![]()
