Alright, just did both San d'Oria quests, and I thought I might add a little input:
The first NM is a Black Mage that can insta-cast spells later on in the fight, has access to Dispelga and Blindga as well as -ga III's and Single target IV nukes. As previously mentioned, his Curse is especially dangerous, bringing you to 1/2 HP and MP. Highly, HIGHLY do not recommend /war tanking this on Pld. I did, not knowing what I was going into and got pwned around the 15% mark when he was insta-casting single target nukes.
The Young Behemoth is particularly dangerous. My party was ill-prepared having 2 pick up DD's. We were unable to deal sufficient Damage in a short period of time, and one of the Damage dealers died fairly early.
- Shockwave is dangerous. Unsure if it's conal or AoE, but you might want to face the Behemoth away for an added precaution.
- After engaging, dispel immediately. The Behemoth's en-thunder effect can do up to 105 points of damage with Barthundra on.
- The Behemoth is also capable of dropping a fairly geared Paladin from white to double digits instantly, your healers will have to be on the ball.
- As previously stated, he can get spammy, sometimes attacking four or five times back to back, other times taking 4 - 5 seconds in between his attacks, also, around 20%, he seemed to continuously spam TP attacks.
- There may be a hate reset move, a low hate cap, or an innate resistance to magic damage. I have only done the battle once, but Young Behemoth never took more than 400 from an Atonement.
- Finally, if you wipe: DO NOT GET UP IF YOU ARE CLOSE TO THE BEHEMOTH. Everyone in the zone will instantly wipe upon aggro. No damage, nothing in the log, just death.
Obviously, I have not beaten Young Behemoth, it's late and I'll try again tomorrow. Good luck to those of you about to fight him!
