finished Bastok. final reward is Elixir Tank, at least the CS was good.
IN the Price of Valor,
anyone solo'd Madthrasher or duo? If so on which job(s)
For Young Behemoth, does the Thunderbolt retaliation to offensive magic include non-damage spells like debuffs/flash?
i saw a RDM solo Madthrasher on RDM/NIN. Had crimson cuisses. Kiting it is fairly easy since it casts spells a lot.. but its tier IV nukes are very fast.. so shadows will benefit you alot.
Also /nin helps so it doesnt land the encurse attacks.. curse is not only bad for HP but cos it slows down movement speed
From what I noticed, it was Nukes only. Bio II seemed to not cause it to retaliate. I don't have my logs available to me from either of my two fights though, so I can't 100% confirm. I can say with certainty though, it did not retaliate to Flash.
EDIT: Also, I watched an AH Rdm solo him. Just kite him around the lake and watch out for aggroing mobs. About to try it with three without kiting. Pld/Nin, War/Nin, Rdm/Whm.
EDIT v.2: We trio'd it but had to resort to kiting. This NM gets hairy after he uses his dance. Also, make sure you keep a DoT on it while kiting. We accidentally lost claim on it once and it went from 30% to 85% before we could get it back. If you're going to low man it, kiting, or at the very least, kiting it during it's Dance phase is probably the only way to go. Also, for the record, it's dance seemed to last no longer than a minute. You can tell it's over when he stops insta-casting.
just cleared the bastok BC..
the ahriman casts tier 3 ga and tier 4 nukes.. as well as sleepga and blindga.
when it casts blindga, it will depop and then pop either of the other 3 NPCs...
Nicolaus can cast some spells, cant remember what..
Volker does his usual sword WS
Five Moons does Scythe AoE, including an AoE move.. spinning scythe i think..
all 3 of them have very short HP.. if you have a strong enough tank I'd recommend saving TP during these forms and then unleashing as much dmg as u can on the Ahriman...
once the NPC guy is killed, the Ahriman repops and you'll continue killing from the HP it had before it depopped... and repeat the pattern. It usually will depop when it casts blindga.. however if after enough time has passed, it might just depop and reappear as 1 of the 3 NPCs again... It can do this as many times as possible.
My winning PT setup was 5SMN 1BRD. never had any problem with the fight... but might no have been possible to win without the BP glitch fix, cos the NPCs can move abit..
Nicolaus casts all the same spells as the Ahriman + blaze spikes. Also, he uses club weapon skills. I got smacked for a 900+ Judgment on BLU w/ pro4. Won with the set up WHM/BLU/WAR/MNKx2. Also note that the Ahriman + forms lose hate easily.
You can DoT the Orc NM then kite it around the small lake nearby like KB. With two or more people they can sleep the marlboro's or otherwise just put up sneak in between applying DoT's and be careful of aggro.
For the LAst Bastok BC we owned it in 15min with NIN/DRK RDM/WHM and WHM/SCH
as RDM all i had to do was Paralyze/slow dia II the NPC (+silence for nicolus) refresh the NIN and send 1-2 nukes to the eye (thunder III and blizzard III was doing like 5% each around 500-600 DMG)
Just finished Last Bastok BC fight. Lost the first time when Nickolaus Hexa Striked me for 1688 dmg.
Second fight, I noticed a few things:
- If you stun blindga (or if it gets paralyzed or intimiated), it won't morph immediately. It looks like this spell is an instant trigger for changing to an NPC. Arch Ahriman can also open with blindga immediately after changing from NPC back to ahriman form, triggering another change.
- After a certain period of time (dunno if triggered by HP% or time passed like the SSR Chariot brainjack move) the eye will still change to an NPC regardless of the need to cast blindga.
- Won without much difficulty SAM/NIN (tank/DD), RDM/DRK (debuffs/healer/stuns), WHM/BLM mule (just fearing Nicholaus after the first attempt insta killing me :X)
So for the Bastok line you just have to zone into Bastok Markets {S} after completing the mission / quest line? because I'm not getting a CS from that or the metalworks.
Okay, I'm lost. What is the trick to starting Quelling the Storm?
Apparently I never finished Fire in the Hole, so yesterday I finished it off, got the item reward (silver republican medal), and it's in quest lists as completed. Likewise, I'm done with all available missions, have Crossroads of Time on mission list. Yet, zoning into bastok markets[s] from gusta[s] does not result in CS. I've tried three times:
1) Immediately after finishing Fire in the Hole
2) Two game days after finishing Fire in the Hole
3) JP Midnight after finishing Fire in the Hole
and it just won't start up. I must be missing something.
Windy CS are ... epic ...
Goblin Belt from Bastok Quelling the Storm.
to start queling the storm is simple
Need to be onm WOG mission croassrod of times, and finished fire in the hold
Zone to Bastok S from north gustabers S and question will start
Attempt 1: Tried to duo on BLU/NIN+SAM/WAR and just zerg him before he zerged us, didn't work. He had a ridiculous amount of HP. We also thought the he couldn't be stunned, Otherwiki fails again.
Attempt 2: We tried to kill with 4 people, a RDM/WHM and another rather gimp SAM showed up at the Underbrush and we figured we'd give it a shot. Still under the impression that it was not stunnable, we lost, but got it to about 30%.
Attempt 3: We tried with the same 4 people, except BLU was headbutting this time and we won insanely easily.
Attempt 4: We (BLU/NIN+SAM/WAR) decided to try to help someone in the shell get past it, and we tried to trio it, newcomer was on RDM/something, and we wiped thanks to Berserker's dance+FC Blizzaga3+encurse/hitting for 300.
Soo not an easy fight, but if you got it 'fairly low' solo, kudos.
Ok so i found out whats wrong. If you never talked to Blatherix from "The burden of suspicion" to get your elixir you wont flag the CS.
