Pretty shocked at this but won Young Behemoth First Attempt with only 3 as PLD said he saw topic 2 winning SAM/NIN and RDM/WHM since i was so desperate with shouting 2 days with no help tell for Price of valor and bonds that never die (even offered 100k per helper lol ) but PLD suggested to Attempt it with 3 Well nothing to lose PT setup was
PLD/Nin
Sam/Nin
Rdm/Whm (me)
Made sure i got vile+Vile1+Pro-Ether before the fight as for it start good until he started to spam Shockwave like no tommorow at around 50% made me waste all my potion, @20% Sam 2H but didn't kill it then he AOE which killed me and Sam but we RR then killed it. I highly recommend if you want to try it with 6 bring SCH+Bard+RDM+SAMX2+PLD he is no joke like to spam Howl and shockwave like a crack head and what made this fight long the PLD and sam had hard time hitting it with it's high evasion so bard MadX2 would be helpful with Slow2+Para+Elegy
Can anyone help me out? I started doing "The Long March North" following the instructions on ffxiclopedia. The NPC told me to go to La Vaule[S] to click the "New-Turned Earth", ffxiclopedia says the spot is at K-9. I went over the whole area of K-9 like 5 times, with nary a spot to click.
Is the position on wiki wrong? Is it just not spawning for me for some reason? What's going on?
It's behind a hut close to the wall, directly behind an Orc that never seems to move.
Long march north fort kn demon fight is still buggy, mobs pop an depop again. GM said they are aware of it.
Got it, took forever for the spot to load w/ the 500 orcs swarming the area. -.-
This is the only thing difficult about the new quests. The sheer number of hours I pumped into shouting for pick ups while the rest of the server was doing Crystalline Prophecy.
San d'Oria: 4 hours shouting. (Wound up going with a group of four that was standing by the entrance to the BC.)
Bastok: 5 1/2 hours shouting. (LS mates logged on at 5 1/2 hours, so I just did it with them.)
Windurst: 1 1/2 hours shouting. (Got 3 other LS mates after 1 1/2 hours so we just did it then.)
Grand Total: 11 hours shouting, and only one person answered the shouts for one of the missions.
Lesson: Shouting is pointless this late in the story. Many people gave up before this point, but will scramble to complete the quests/missions when they announce the new reward for WotG. Those who are doing them have a static and/or LS mates, and won't answer shouts. But will I do it again next patch? Yes. Since I'm that stubborn guy who drops everything else in FF XI outside of events for new storyline until it's done. >.>
Apologies to those on Sylph who had to endure my /shouts in Whitegate every 2 1/2 minutes.
I know how you feel. I have to shout for every new mission and quest line. Small LS with no one willing to help, and no friends ingame anymore = lots of shouting. I'm still stuck on Fire in The Hole because no one will do it. It took me weeks to get A Feast for Gnats finished.
Hell, everyone is doing ACP and I cant even get a party for that. I had one attempt at the final BC, and now im getting no more invites.![]()
Windy: The Long March North:
Can I get some more info on the Fight?
Theres only 3 of us now that want to do it, was wondering if any chance doing it with PLD PLD RDM.
Anyone know a way around Windy glitch? It screwed up our attempt yesterday.
Also, is it possible to manaburn it with 3 blm?
The Windy fight might be doable with 4, but I wouldn't try it with anything less. We went Pld, Rdm, Rdm, Blu, Blu.
As Pld, I grabbed the Drk NM and tanked him while one Rdm babysat the eyes, and the other babysat the demons. The Blus both engaged one eye, and literally tore it apart in no time at all. I can't give you an exact number, but both eyes were down before flash was back up. I'd guess no more than 3k HP, and next to no Defense.
After both eyes were down, we started to focus on the DRK demon. Estimated around 10k HP. By the time the Demon was at 10%, sleeps were starting to have a hard time landing on the demons. One Rdm managed to keep theirs slept, but the other had to tank it Rdm style like a champ. After the Drk was down, we killed both Demons with relative ease.
Each time an eye died, the Drk popped a blue 2-hour animation, but I had filters on so I couldn't tell what happened. I didn't notice Blood Weapon or Mighty Strikes, so it may be an ability specific to the mob.
This can probably be accomplished with little difficulty utilizing 2 well geared DD's, someone to hold a demon (doesn't need to be a tank.) and a dedicated Crowd Controller.
EDIT: As for 3 Blm mana burn, I would have to go with no. The main demon has 10k HP and is pretty fast. I'm not sure if gravity works or not. Also, sleep wears very quickly on these mobs. I think our first fight sleep would last 15 - 20 seconds, so one Blm would have to be completely dedicated to sleeping. In addition to that, the eyes like to resist sleep early in the fight, and the demons do build sleep resistance.
Of course, I never mana burned so I'm just speaking from a Paladin's perspective, but if you can find a way to work around those hurdles, I'd say give it a shot.
If sleep does last 15sec with Elemental seal and they build resist, I dont think it's possible to manaburn. Eyes are resistant no matter where you fight them in game, but Elemental seal always land on them. It should be the same in the BC
Yeah, it was strange. Our Rdm also said she had no trouble sleeping one of the eyes, but the second just wouldn't sleep. We did the fight 3 times and had the same results in regards to sleeping each time. This was with Elemental Seal + Sleepga (Not II). Sleep II and non-elemental sleepga seemed to stick no prob to one of the eyes. I don't think one is immune, and the other isn't, but the resist must be very high or build very quickly... That, or something weird was going on.
I will keep that in mind and attempt it with whatever we have. Getting people to help for those mission is such a pain.
Went with a pickup group on the Windurst fight. Setup was MNK, RDM, BLM x2, SAM x2
We basically handeled it like a Dynamis pull.
Started with ES Sleepga II and another ES Sleepga II when they woke up. BLMs killed both Eyes asap (a BLM should have no problems soloing one of those Eyes) while rest of the group was focusing on the unsleepable main NM.
When Eyes and NM were dead the remaining Demons already started to resist sleep, but that wasn't an issue at this point of the fight, since they are quite squishy. Gravity and bind stick on both of them, so they can be kited if needed.
I tried Windy BC today with 3
#1 BLM BLM NIN
We thought the main nm was sleepable for some reason and got rapped really fast
#2 BLM BLM NIN
Nin hold nm, we zerged the 4 add..fail again, nin couldnt hold survive alone
We tried again with 6 people ( I wanted to go with 4, but more people came to help)
#3 BLM x3, WHM PLD NIN
Aga x3 took the add to 4% hp, and we killed the nm in 2min after. It was a joke
Conclusion
BLM BLM WHM PLD should be able to beat this BC easily, or any variation of this setup. Both blm should be able to take care of the add really fast with 4 aga spells, and with stoneskin manafont, it's not even risky. A single blm could possibly kill all 4 with manafont if someone bomb cure him (they hit pretty weak, so with phalanx/ss, it shouldnt even be a problem). The main NM is hard, but a PLD with healer and debuff should be able to tank and kill easily.
I hate cliffhangers =_=
2 of the 3 cliffhangers this time around didn't bother me. They left me excited for the next update. If you're talking about the storyline I think you're talking about though... that just ticked me off.
How can you leave a guy hanging for 3, possibly 6 months with that sort of information? It's like when they first started airing DBZ, Goku gets to Namek, he's about to fight Jace and what ever his name is, and then the entire series restarts.
it's nice sandoria and windy are getting into the Final showdown (screw bastok i give up on this shitty nation quests story) goi ng be long 8 months wait ><
