Khroma Ore and a Panther Mask with +8 evasion and +1% crit rate for pet off Batt. Downs, and crummy loot to go with Errant Pigaches augmented with +3 Conserve MP, +2 STR and +1 HMP from Crawler's Nest. Both fights easily won with a group of PLD (/WAR for CN, /NIN for Batt. Downs), DRG/NIN, MNK/NIN, BRD, WHM, RDM/BLM. In both fights, I straight tanked the NMs away from the group as PLD with minimal support while the melee took down one add at a time.

Has anyone received an item that's actually good before the augmentations? Like... one that a normal person would buy at any time during a lv.1-75 leveling process?

Well with this, the possibilities are endless. We may end up seeing Haubergeons and Dusk Gloves at some point. Just depends on how the roll of the dice.

Little bit of both. Both the gear and the augments appear to be random.

Need a larger sample size before patterns could appear.

cos if theres some kind of pattern, then it'd make sense that there are this many number of NMs which drop a certain category of things...

We did all 3 uncapped today with 6, they were a lot of fun, and the money drops were surprisingly good. Our augmented gear was crap.

It seems like this is a standard drop since our group also got the barone hands (see screenshot on previous page)

We tried the slug again. PLD/NIN SAM/WAR SAM/WAR DRK/SAM RDM/BLM WHM/SCH BRD/WHM. No success. Hate on the slug was jumping all over the place.

Since then, we've started doing some thinking and we think the person popping it simply aggros mobs instead of being firmly established on the hate list. So we will be trying to single sleep the individual targets, have the PLD/RDM run the slug away and deal with it, then enable AOE crowd control while we pick off single targets. That way since the PLD is not firmly on the hate list, he can be cured without fear of hate bouncing.
