Same thing will occur if you trade a +1 item to your Moogle for Mog Safe +. He won't accept it. Has to be the basic, unmodified, NQ type.

Do we have enough results in yet to decide whether the higher level of training (Chapter 4 etc.) means better augments? Or does it only decide the maximum level of items you can trade?

In other words if I want to spam a lvl20 item, should I bother doing chapter 4 or go for a lower cost chapter?

I don't know, my friend did a Life Belt in Behemoth's Dominion yesterday and got DEX+1 on it first try @ 50% Moon. I have a hard time finding any correlation to the chapter/time of day/moon phase. >_>; It all just seems like random luck to me. ; ;

My past two augments (Introduction, Eremite's Ring in East Sartabarta; Chapter 1, Purple Belt in Valkrum Dunes) have both been +1 Resist. ._. +1 Earth Resist on my Eremite's Ring and +1 Fire Resist on my Purple Belt. What a joke...

EDIT: Just got a good one, +1 MND, -1 AGI, -1 CHR +13 Fire on Silver Hairpin+1 in Valkrum Dunes, Lightningsday, No weather, WAR/WHM.

I think the level of the equipment determines the augments while the chapter determines the maximum level of gear.
