Forgive my ignorance, as I have none of the merit BPs, but why would you max Thunderstorm over any of the others? Is it a personal preference thing or is it just for the Magic Bursts?

All Tier IIs have assumedly the same base damage. All Tier IIs are ranged, and function exactly the same way. The sole exception is Titan's Geocrush, which has a Stun effect in addition to the damage.
If someone meritted Thunderstorm, it would most likely be to assist with Magic Bursts, or personal preference.
Doing Grand fall. Plan on keeping the rest at tier 1 tho, just cause they look so preeetty.
We just tried to do SMN burn after emergency update, and it capped out at chain 10 and only received around 4k XP, 2nd wave gave 0 for all mobs. Might be broken. We going to try a 2nd round at this to see if SE fixed it.
Or you just have no idea how to do it
We doing it the same way we have been
EDIT: Round 2 worked this time, so not sure why first round didn't
How much damage do you lose / upgrade?
Tempting to go 3/3/1/1/1/1 atm (for funs)
Wow, there's always some sort of problem after each update huh.
"- Blood Pact: Ward "Hastega"
The Blood Pact: Ward ability "Hastega" has been adjusted to nullify the effects of Slow in the same manner as the white magic 'Haste.'"
I do remember them saying that it will overwrite the slow effect of spiderweb but I guess they fumbled the ball on that one.
So is there a general consensus on SMN merits now? I assume it's shifting...
5/5 Phys Attack + 5/5 MAB?
Or are people still doing accuracy. I assumed layering on the Summoning Magic would take the place of Phys Acc. merits.
Tht's what I'm thinking, but I haven't finished them yet. Just stocking up on merits freaking out about where to put them.
I'm hoping Nirvana + ACP MAB piece + 5/5 MAB will end up with some major nuke numbers, but I don't want to be screwed by not having m.acc merits ;X
But gearing for the 75 pacts makes me wish I got the ACP Crit Hit piece for some huge predator claws...
Stupid choices. Always messing with my easy plans.
Heh yeah don't worry. It's just hard deciding where to put the other 5. Pretty sure I'm going to finish what I started and do MAB 5/5 and Phys Attack 5/5. Thunderstorm 5/5 (since Ramuh is my favorite).
The only question left is to do 1/5 in all of them for flavor, or just pick one and max it out...
Suggestion?
Hmm... sucks putting all this work into merits when we don't know exactly what we're getting...
Oh well, can always get rid of them and move them around.
I'm kinda OCD. I can't do 4/5 and 1/5. I'll feel "incomplete" Need to max one out haha.
Until proven wrong, I'm going to continue on 5/5 Phys Attack, 5/5 MAB, 5/5 Ramuh, 1/5 others, capped SMN Magic skill.
(taht's interesting about the haste though. I'll try to mess around with it tonight.)
my build prepatch was 4/5/0/1, i intended to go 3/5/0/2 or 2/5/0/3, but i'm probably going to switch out acc for matk based on how much damage each tier of MAB merits will give. currently i have max skill, aside from any new potential +skill in this augment system, which we haven't seen. so i feel safe in saying i should probably back off on those acc merits. i would definitely say that anyone not sporting over +30 skill are really gimping themselves endgame, +30 is AH doable at 75 with austere pieces, AF, ring and torque.
as for group two, i know i want to cap wind blade, garuda is just generally the superior light based avatar atm, its just a toss up if i want to do 3/2 on two other pacts, shiva and titan or do 5 into windblade and 5 into a darkness based pact, either shiva for distortion/darkness or titan for darkness/stun. what makes me undecided on shiva vs titan is that i can't think of any situation that earth based damage would be applicable, or any use for the stun that i can't get from ramuh's superior chaotic strike, so i'm leaning towards shiva just for how more prevalent distortion would be.
i assume skill lands ward pact debuffs. there's no reason, or indication, that +skill has anything to do with hastega overwriting spider slow.
one quick test i'd like proof on, is if hastega would overwrite refueling, would finally keep those retarded blus from gimping themselves with only 10% haste.
yeah 1 Light 1 Dark was my initial preference, but in all honesty I can't think of a time when it will REALLY matter.
It's sorta a "go big or go home" mentality with the 75 pacts. Or rather "Do massive damage or your linkshell is going to make you just go back to P. Claws.
I have capped Summoning Magic (naked), and +1 relic hands among all the other regular Summoning Magic gear you'd expect a career Summoner to have. I don't macro in Evoker's Horn though, so I may be 2-3 short of where you are. But I'm not concerned with it too much, as anywhere I lack I'll have the merits to cover me soon (when I'm macroing in other pieces)
