I just bought this monster this week because I was feeling nostalgic.

I'm such a huge nerd I used to collect all the LEGO Pirates series. I have EVERY SINGLE set released from 89 until they killed the set in the mid 90s. I'm soooo tempted to start collecting them again since they started rereleasing Pirates.

    Whoa holy fuck yes!!!!

I was OBSESSED with the big space-themed lego ships. I had the big M-Tron truck, the twin cockpit Ice Planet ship, the big series2 Space Pirate ship, and a few others I don't remember. I'll see if I can find pics. Some of the space sets were amazingly cool.

I know I had these, the last set had the best helmet Visors by far.

EDIT: probably one of my last favorite sets before I "grew out of them"

<3 my robo guardian XD It had that awesome cargo thing in the front, the flyer in the back, and the head could detatch along with the arms to make a flier. And that space police flier could separate the prisoner container and contract the whole ship with those angled pieces.

Goddamn Legos were the shit. I had a ton of the medieval Legos and later on some of the town sets. I spent countless hours building things, using my imagination, breaking them down, building them again.

The old space sets were the best. I liked the Aquanauts ones as well when they came out, but nowhere near as much as the Space Themes.

That one was one of my favourites as well. North Korea should buy this set and learn how to do a successful rocket launch.

I think this one was one of my very first sets:

    Other favourites:

If Lego rereleased some of the old sets I'd probably buy them.

Too many memories. After that one big Ice Planet ship came out and I got, I started making basically my own personal Voltrons and shit out of all the parts I'd accrued over the years. When I started to figure out how to make good and stable joints, I wound up making some 2 foot tall robot that you could pose in various ways. Sadly, I left it at my friend's one day and his mom knocked it over. Never could get it back together just right since I think some of the pieces got lost under his dresser or something.

Fuck ya'll and your space sets!! Most of the really good space sets were too expensive for my parents to buy me. The only space one I had was the robo guardian, the UFO, and that last one in post above me.

Fucking loved the Pirate set and the aqua zone sets.

No picture, but the biggest Lego to date I've made was the Aircraft Carrier one.

Anyone buy the Lego movie creator? I fucking know I did.

Oh god, LEGOs. Used to, and still could, play with them for hours! Most of my favorites have already been posted, though. A few years ago I got the big Star Wars Star Destroyer model. Took like a week to put it together (and what a week!)

OH FUCK THAT GOD DAMN SHIT SUCKING PIECE OF SHIT FUCKING ISLAND!
Some sadist bought my little brother that for a present and he kept breaking it - guess who had to rebuild the fucker twenty times in one day?

The new stuff is shite tho - it's like car-shaped pieces and stuff - whatever happened to obscurely slightly blocky renditions of things? Still funny watching the way five year old boys pretty much dive headfirst into the bottom of it with only their bottom halves remaining outside the box to try to find the wheels before their mate does so they can all make cars and drive them right through the middle of where the girls are playing.
