homosexuality is a disease. its not a lifestyle...

and besides, homosexuality contradicts marriage. Marriage = family, children, husband/wife...gay marriage is missing those important elements.

They are not gay, they just take misogyny to its logical conclusion.

I don't see why it's a bloody issue. Hell I used to work in a church school and one of the teachers there married her girlfriend - could have been potential for moral outrage etc etc etc - but it was just a non-issue, the usual card was sent around for all to sign and chip in with, we all made suitable oooh noises at the photos, and laughed at the ones of colleagues getting shit-faced drunk at the reception - shame as we would with any collegue getting married.

As for the whole marriage must result in children thing - I've always found that highly offensive toward couples faced with fertility issues.

adoption, but aah, you gona say that goes for gay marriage too. I disagree, a mother and father adopting a child; the child is raised by them not by two gay people. difference.

My parents are divorced, and I was raised only by my mother.

MANY people have divorced parents, your whole "mom and dad" argument is stupid. It doesn't matter who raises a kid, as long as it's a loving guardian, whomever he, she, or they may be.

    also:

Marriage = family, children, husband/wife...gay marriage is missing those important elements.
    Although it's already been said:

Family? My family, parents, cousins, his parents, family, etc, him, me, happy: check
Children? Adoption, or uh, forgot the word, can easily get someone to carry a child: check
    Husband: him, check
Wife: Exact same thing as husband, but opposite sex, two husbands, so the wife role IS filled, check

    oh shi---

its a fact that, getting raised by 1 parent is very tough..

    so, don't give your mother a hard time, and be grateful. but come to think of it, I dont know how well you're raised by your mother only;

    just wondering, are you gay?

It's hard to fathom Iowa is socially more progressive than CA. I have always under the impression that CA is the liberal mecca. A shame really.

Seeing that you're from the middle east where there's no universal suffrage, there are alot of things in america won't make sense to you.

she is the supporter of the husband, just like the husband is the supporter of a wife. Sharing their lives together.

one of the main roles of a wife is motherhood, having children and raising them with the husband.

taking care of the house, she is considered the manager of the house.

the contradiction is motherhood, and the fact the its a man...a man doing a woman's job; don't mix, we are all humans, but we got different priorities, different thinking, different-so-many-things. biologically we are different, mentally we are different.

marriage is the merging of a man and a woman; this traditionally is the removal of the barrier between men and women to live together, or to have a relationship together; to be accepted by God first, then society that those two people are in an approved relationship...you want to be with her? marry her...simple, then it became less and less serious, and now there is same sex marriages, which really defies what marriage stands for, i mean a man and a man do not have barriers or differences...so why marry? oh right, to insert penis in ass w/o feeling guilty?

sorry im a bit traditional, hehe.

So based on that definition, a wife is a female spouse, meaning that her role is the role of a spouse's, a term that refers to both either wife and husband. So yes, a second husband can take the "role" of a wife.

But what's her role? What does she contribute to a marriage that a man doesn't?

And Julian, the word you're thinking of is surrogacy.
