Also, I wouldn't say COMPLETELY different genre.
Online RPG is online RPG... only real difference between genres are how many people can directly impact your gameplay at one time.

4 player action/hack n slash RPG vs... whatever the fuck you want to call FFXI. They play completely differently, really has nothing to do with how many people you're playing with!

Then in FFXI I could on PLD alone raise my Enmity, HP, Shield skill, Sword skill gain extra abilities, lower timers on existing abilites, etc.

While as I explained, with a MAG I can tweak a whole 4 stats.

Yep, 200 stat points to put in any of your base stats, which not only effects your stats/strength but what you can equip, is alot more minor than merits.
