    Newegg RMA/Replacements

So the video card that I bought a few days ago had a shoddy fan, which is still functional but definitely in the process of dieing. How well do I have to sell it to get them to send me a card preempatively instead of making me go 10 days without a card again?

They don't do that, sadly. I tried once but didn't win.
Newegg's policy is that they are not the manufacturer, therefore are not responsible for any defect or malfunctioning products.

You can try calling them and seeing what they'll do, since they're pretty awesome about a lot of stuff. But, if you absolutely can't go that many days without the card, order a new one, and when it gets there return your old one for an RMA.

Try them. Newegg tends to be really good about stuff like this if it's still fairly new and within their normal retrurns/RMA policy. I had a defective Geforce 7 7900 that they refunded in full to me without any hassle whatsoever. (Although their RMA policy normally would just ship you another, they removed the card from the site altogether, so my case of a full refund and no 15% restocking is one-time)

Just let them know that the card is defective and that you'd like a replacement. My experiences with Newegg (and the few RMAs I've had to do) were an absolute pleasure.

Upon digging slightly further, it looks like within 30 days of the initial invoice they'll cross ship but charge me for the second card until they get the defective one. I'll have to call them in the morning to confirm that. It'd be a huge downer if they don't because I don't feel like having a crippled system again.
