Copying from a TVs built-in DVR

my TV, a 42" LCD, has a built in DVR, which can record from any input, including those for games.

I was wondering if there is a known method of transferring that files/videos to a PC.

If so, there's usually a USB interface on it for the purpose. Also, if you can figure out what specific DVR it is, you may be able to find data output leads on the motherboard, and could attach a data port to it to interface with if you have the soldering skill. I've seen someone do that to the DVRs built into the digital cable boxes our local cable provider uses.

You could buy a DVD recorder and transfer off the burned dvds, or use an A/V capture card. Other than that, what bungiefan said.
