Why people would get a melee body piece for RDM when Paluhwan body is so much better is beyond me.

Pahluwan is 10 ACC and placebo crit rate. That's...about...it.

Really you can make a better rounded melee piece for RDM (and the other jobs on it) than they otherwise tend to get.

RDM melee is usually a tossup between a primarily ACC piece (SH, Pahluwan), a primarily ATT piece (AJ), or a primarily Haste piece (Goliard, Nashira). I'd say Morrigan's is a better overall mix, but many don't/won't have one.

I mean, to me, going with DW on that is somewhat iffy, since /NIN is far from a given, but it'd depend on the player and their individual needs/setup. If you are using it, it's be a similar "upgrade" from Goliard's 4% Haste as an ACC/DW would be for NIN/THF/DNC/etc going from AF or Rapparee respectively.

While there's no STR/DEX, Savage Blade and Death Blossom do have MND modifiers, so it's not a complete wash.

There are kinda few uses for it as a casting piece for RDM. It's slightly better than Errant for nuking (MAcc/MAB augments), but many probably melee (for Campaign, solo, etc) more than nuke. Could maybe make a Dark magic piece (MAcc/Fast Cast), but we already have MAcc on RSE, and Haste/Fast Cast on Goliard or Relic, and Nashira is still better due to the skill.

Having Auto-Refresh as an option woulda really helped make it a more useful addition for non-SMN mages. As it stands, nearly anything the other jobs on it can do is a slight upgrade at best.
At least with a melee setup, a RDM is getting something they really couldn't quite get before.

I would agree with this 100% if there wasn't a thread in advanced that had a mess of people who played COR all jizzing over the idea of this bodypiece in the 1st place.

Confused is one thing but not knowing about someone's job specifics and posting it here is a free pass to getting flak for it.

I know a dude who's about 0/30 on his Swift Belt, so it's within the realm of possibility that this SAM's in the same boat.

And frankly, this "best possible gear in every slot before relic" thing is a little bullshit. They should have good gear in all slots, but if they sold Dusk +1 for coins and use the slightly inferior Askar, they're hardly an idiot.

Sure, the dude has a few things to tweak like his excessive Store TP, the silly ammo, and absence of a Haste belt, but he's hardly worthy of this thread.

Hell, quite a few of the people posted in this thread are mildly "wtf" but certainly not trainwreck bad. The vast majority of the game population is mildly wtf (and I bet many of the posters putting up pics of people with imperfect gear are mildly wtf on at least one job), so meh at seeing more of the norm.
