For those of you involved with Projectxi happen to have an idiots guide to setting this up on a PC? I was thinking this would be the perfect tool to help get pictures for BGWiki.

Sure, I wrote it myself. Here it is: Server Setup Guide - ProjectXI Wiki Would be cool if we could get some people to translate into other languages.

Also, I'm not so sure about using pXI as a tool to get photos of FFXI. It will obviously be misleading. On the other hand, it would be great to get pics of rare text, etc.

Also if anyone goes on and installs pXI, please test all the quest and NPC behavior scripts that I and others have worked so hard on. I, personally, followed quest instructions on ffxiclopedia. Hell, if you know LUA feel free to add your own and commit to our SVN.

This gives me so much hope for some sweet augments added in a WoTG endgame event. Of course SE will probably fuck it up by making them completely random.

Well yeah, but you could also do that a lot easier by just swapping .dats. Thou I'm not sure why anyone would want to fill the wiki with fake screenshots...

I guess it is a morally gray area. I'd run it by the mods before I started using Pxi.

Just to clarify what I meant about how pXI could be used for good or for evil:

Good: Picture of Ninurta's Sash item text.
Evil: Picture of you recieving a Sin of Indignation.

and another,

Good: Picture of Birdman Cape item text.
Evil: Picture of you fighting Almighty Apkallu.


Anyway I'm sure it's fine, I would just hate to see someone using it with the intent of spreading misinformation. Remember that much of what we will have to do is based on what you the players have to say (i.e. damage formulas, that other post asking about delay reduction on an augment, etc). That doesn't mean that it's what SE put in though.
