Also, one of the articles on CNN got all high and mighty over the use of the term tea party. His entire article bashed the Republicans for not realizing that they had representation with taxation. Is it really that big of a deal if the term is used and isn't 100% similar to the original use? It has to do with taxes so it is slightly relevant and the dude seemed to have completely missed/ignored that point.
Uh no. It was original plan to protest about tax laws and anti-Big government. Fox news and the republican party Piggy backed it to an anti-obama rally instead. Libertarians and other 3rd parties are fuming.

and lol@ the circle jerk going on hannity.

also as stated by anna marie cox it's funny how all these anti-taxation people are gathering to protest in big areas like City parks(payed by tax dollars) and are using Services like Police officers.

From what I've watched, they are protesting the 60,000 page tax code, mentioning the fair tax, and pissed off about pork spending and massive bailouts. How is that not anti-Big gov't and tax laws? And just because they are taking shots at Obama and Geithner doesn't mean its purely an anti-Obama rally. Shots were going to be taken no matter what.

Unless they had night jobs, they didn't miss anything. Rally was from 710-1010.

Yes. originally planned by Libertarians. Fox news and RNC turned it into a anti-obama rally. Conveniently absent of the speeches aired by Fox news are the anti-Republican speeches cause last I checked they were a big part of the problem.

Do you really think its a 50/50 split between day/night workers? Or even 60/40? What constitutes an overwhelming majority because I'd say it is.

Sorry, been studying for awhile so I'm confused by the wording. You're saying that there were anti-Republican speeches that Fox News didn't air? That sucks if they glossed over that part but not shocking. Both parties suck and it'd be awesome if we had a redo button or a mulligan when it comes to electing politicians.

My point is we don't know because the Left leaning stations showed only the crackpots and the Fox news showed the Anti-obama crowd which was who they were marketing too.

I love the bumper sticker "join the Patriotic Resistance!"

honestly it's only a matter of time before the next waco/OKC kind of incident. conservatives will go on for years about loving amurica no matter what but then a dem gets elected and all the sudden it's time to brew sedition.

    From The Washington Post today:

Americans' Tax Burden Near Historic Low
Despite Obama's Pledge, Some Fear Future Hikes As Debt Grows

    By Lori Montgomery
    Washington Post Staff Writer
    Thursday, April 16, 2009

As thousands of anti-tax protesters rallied across the nation yesterday and the president promised tax cuts for most, new data showed that the federal income tax burden is already hovering near its lowest level in three decades for all but the wealthiest Americans.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates that the average family forked over barely 9 percent of its earnings to the IRS in 2006, the most recent year for which information is available. The effective tax rate hit its all-time low in 2003 and has since crept up only slightly.

Middle-class families -- to whom President Obama has delivered even more tax relief since he took office in January -- have fared especially well, according to the CBO. The middle fifth of taxpayers, who earned an average of $60,700 per household in 2006, paid just 3 percent in federal income tax that year, down from a high of 8.3 percent in 1981.

(emphasis mine, full link here: washingtonpost.com)

This was first really brought to light by the NY Times recently, but I'm not sure it has really permeated yet. This middle-fifth (and honestly all but the richest of the rich) are paying LESS in taxes than they were under their hero Ronald Reagan. Sit back and let that settle in. And they are STILL pissed about it.
