The question is why would you WANT to trade in seals for 600x?!

I think the seals are better off being used on BCNMs.. People always complain about having to farm for Seals to do BCNM, and having to trade-in those precious seals for the small amount of exp, I just can't figure out why SE even introduced this system.

Yeah, at 75 exp per beastman's seal, it's not worth it. If it was around 200 or so (a free IT kill) with a lower cap on max seals tradeable it might be worth it to desperate people, but most would still rather save them. Maybe 300 or so. I've got well over 1k seals sitting around, and if the exp per seal was worth it it might be tempting to use them to help burn through the slower levels to grind.
^this, I'm currently at 1.2k in beastmen seals, (only 10 kindreds lol).
I just never knew anyone who wanted to burn that many seals for kraken bc, etc. So I never bothered.
If you have access to a dual box character you can dual box kraken bc rdm/blm + blm/rdm pretty easily. I normally go in, move my main blm up, manafont it and use all mps/sleep then run to the opposite end of the arena, /heal. I then switch to the RDM screen, and CS it, once I'm done with CS it's at like 20%. I then finish it off with a couple nukes/drain. Don't expect a kraken, but hey 75k+ per run guaranteed isn't bad at all!
I have a test, brb finding it
edit: nvm, post is too old, can't find it, but I did post it on this very forum. The test was basically in a merit pt. I had the idea that maybe another seal could drop if we lotted the seal out of the pool. What happened was, we lotted it, and then the first mob after the 5 minute timer (after seal dropping mob died) was up dropped a seal. Always.
So yeah, you're wrong.
I simply love this thread. I have nothing to add except for the fact that I didn't know seals had a cooldown timer. It makes so much sense looking back that I can't believe I never noticed. Thanks D:
I guess it was given as an option for people who think, "Screw it, I'm never gonna BCNM ever, even with a pickup group, and these seals won't go to any use otherwise." Of course, I'd rather take your-orb-your-drop shout groups than waste my seals on low exp, but if SE was designing the game specifically for me we'd have a much better game on our hands.
Short summary, it's aimed at casual people who just want exp any way they can get it.
So you're telling me a seal is a 100% drop off a mob with a 5-min cool down timer? lol? It's very likely that there is a cool down rather than a real time treasure pool check, but without any kind of real evidence I'm not going to blindly accept it. The best demonstration I can think of that would point towards a 5-min cool down timer would be Astral Burning and Quarter mastering someone with like 50 inventory free. If that person only gets one seal that's pretty good evidence towards the cool down timer.
I once had a really unlikely string of KS drops where, after zoning into Rolanberry S, I'd get a drop every single time after killing a Goobbue Farmer (edit: as in, zone into Rolan S -> kill goober -> get seal -> zone out and do something else -> repeat). It was something like 5-6 times in a row I managed this. I bullshat over linkshell that I found some super-duper 100% KS drop technique. Most people understood that I was joking, but one poor guy bought it and convincing him that, no, I wasn't serious was a longer process than I'd have cared to be involved in.
It seems there's an inordinate number of such people in this thread. This makes me sad.
I tried to get multiple seals to drop by alliancing with a mule. So far its never worked, it was stated earlier I think that each party needs to have a killshot, so that might explain things. I might just try this tonight. You think it might go as far as each party being on their own mob exclusively? Liek I fight one my friend fights one? Or is it dependant on the killshot? I could swear I been in "2 man alliances" after am event and shared kills but never seen a BS or KS before the 5 min timer was up. So I assume so long as each party deals with their monster exclusively, 2 seals can drop. Maybe the dude with the screen shot could answer those questions.
