I'm reading "Out of Africa" by Karen Blixen. I work at a job where I can listen to an iPod for six hours a day, and I'm listening to the Wheel of Time series on audiobook (my fiance downloaded the whole thing with Rapidshare). I like the fact that it's really long, even if it does get really slow at times.

Been reading a bunch of Sherlock Holmes stories whenever I get a chance, but there are a bunch here that I'd like to get into eventually (like Foucault, Hawkings, and Huxley).

I have so many books here that I've either read fully or completely ignored. If you want suggestions on novels to read just send a PM, I'm usually pretty good at making suggestions based on your personal taste.

    Night Watch - Sergei Lukyanenko

Very good book, based in Moscow. Basic story is there's two factions of wizards, Light and Dark. They police one another to keep balance between the two groups because there's very few of them left. There's a 2nd and 3rd book out, Day Watch and Twilight Watch. Supposedly a 4th book as well, but I've yet to see it.

Funny that you mention that, my sister just returned this to me after having borrow it years ago and I looked at the sleeve and remembered that I had gotten it signed by the author at a reading. I remember being pretty faint after he read off some of the 'swimming' chapter. Great book!

You were one of those people in the online articles eh, lol. The audio of the live reading from that chapter is online. I wish i could hear him read the whole book to me.

someone reccommended Pillars of the Earth, despite the fact it's an old Oprah booklist thingy (2007 according to wiki) and is from 1989, the way it was summarized to me sounds pretty epic in scale (I really do try to avoid the use of 'epic' but I think it's over 1000 pages)

thing still sells 100,000 copies a year, can't be too bad

The movie was pretty good, but I felt like something got left out so I picked up the book.

Also, reading fan made Streets of Rage novel collection on and off. The first 3 books were great, but the 4th isn't so hot but I'm going to finish it and the 5th just for completion.
