1. No one forces anyone to buy the expansion. You don't need them for other things, you can even help friends with it if you DON'T have it, which is a new thing. Also, it's likely that the other 2 mini-expansions will tie into this one in some way, or there might be an optional quest reward for having all 3 done, in the same way Apoc Nigh is available for the people who didn't pussy out on ZMs the minute they reached Genbu Island.

2. No one forced the security token on anyone either. You lived all this time without the extra space, so no, you don't NEED it any more today than you did last month. If you want your account set up in a risky way, that's your choice, but if you don't download shit third-party software and are savvy about where and how you surf, your system isn't compromised anyway. Therefore, the only one forcing you to even feel you need the added security is you because of your own actions.

I knew the 3 mini expansions were gonna suck ass badly but this mini expansion was the storyline from the beautiful CGI CS in the intro of the game and I wanted to see what happened.
The Developers said it would take about 2 months to complete if I wasn't mistaken and it took 1-2 days from even an average player.
I soloed the entire expansion except the 2 BCNMs, but I soloed the key items for the BCNMs. Went 1/1 on those easy BCs and the body was crap for me so I did feel like I wasted 10 bucks.

For 3 Cutscenes and 2 BCNMs they could have added that to the game for free is how I feel. SE is greedy, $14 bucks a month is way more then the servers cost and 10 bucks for this mini expansion made them millions. You see Sage Sundi's car? it costs over $300,000 lol.
Bout time they need to make these little things free on an update note.
The WOTG Nation quests are longer then these expansions and those are just "quests".

I feel like I just bought from an RMT for an augmented body peice. When you have morrigans and NQ weskit, Usukane body and Togi+1, RDM AF2 and you do not have pld leveled or any pet job leveled. I basically did not need this body peice and will store it on my mannequin.

Its your fault for paying the $10. You knew what the reward for beating it was. It was on the website for weeks before the mini-expansion went for sale. You knew the base stats of the armor and they had a list of augments and said you can choose 2. You have no one to blame but yourself. You can say you're not gonna buy the next one, but we both know you will.

Ah, I must've misunderstood the "@ release" part then. But how many of those things did you get in the initial update when the expansions came out?

All of them I had when they came out, if my prices are wrong I went off what I could remember. I didn't include RoZ because that came with the NA release as well. I know all that content did not come right away, but I'm under the assumption that SE is not adding to ACP ;/

Edit: Btw I'm not saying that SE does a bad job. I've played this game since NA release and I think they are on the ball for the most part when it comes to giving a fair and balanced game. Just after playing through the ACP content, they dropped the ball imo on this one.

You're being naive. Does anyone really think SE is so retarded as to not fully premeditate their plan to bribe us into buying meh content? You can bet the next mini-expansions will have even more "gotta have that" items/content included now that we're on to them. The number of people who will abstain from buying the next expansions because of their disappointment in this one will be negligible, and the number of people who will quit because of it will be... um... zero? When did this turn into an "FFXI IS DYING" thread?

Furthermore, scams work because the amount of resources invested into them are minimal, and the reward for successfully scamming someone is high. SE probably already fully paid for all three of the mini-expansions AND made a hefty profit just from Crystalline Prophecy, so I ask again: why would they care about your QQs?

thats exactly whats shitty... I dont play much FFXI like I used to before, and I got in 3 days, by playing just sporadicly (ecxept today) FFXI, to the end BC... I was expecting harder stuff/missions, at least more then 12.
I did not expect new areas or so, I knew that from the beginning, but dammn this 10 bucks feel like thrown out of window. Its not about lost money, because it doesnt hurt me. But I feel as a BUYER and CUSTOMER screwed...
Fuck this seriously, not gonna spend 10 bucks again for add-on shit, rather spent it at going out, to the cinema, or for an x-box live arcade game or something else.

To be quite honest, 10$ isn't even that much to me and I'm a poor college student, but I was overall pleased with the little story and the body piece made the add-on worth it for me. That being said, I also hate multiple tedious missions lined up like with CoP, so having a little group of missions that are, for the most part, soloable made me enjoy it even more. As far as the extra inventory from the buying the token goes, I would have payed 10$ even without the token if I got my inventory doubled. I dunno what you all expected, but I'm satisfied with my 20$ given to SE.

I didn't understand the story, and honestly, I don't think the people that wrote the story understand it- they probably think that being ambiguous with the dialogue makes the story sound smart, but really what the fuck is going on? 2 boss fights? The last boss its pretty sweet though, and if it wasn't for that I'd be completely disgusted. I hope you're reading this SE. 4-5 boss fights as hard as last boss would have made it worth more than $10 to me, even w/o new equip.

Where do people get this notion that "nobody forced you to do X". It's the most fucking retarded argument ever.

If I go offer to pay pay someone money to kill a person for me...since I didn't force them to do anything, it must be perfectly ok for me to do, right? If some crazy MI/Bond style idiots go and make the whole world have constant diarrhea then charge people for the cure, it's ok because they aren't forcing anyone to buy the cure, right? Shit, I need these 75 bank slots about as much as I need to not have diarrhea. Both are pretty meaningless in the big picture, and both would be very convenient.

Anyway, a lot of people don't need the extra security, the fact that SE has to actually bribe people to pay for it is proof enough of that, really. It's stupid as fuck that a bunch of people are going to go pay for the extra security, then disable it right away. Sorry, but what people have said about this being legit RMT, is exactly the case. Except it's worse, it's like insider trading 'cause SE is the one doing the selling.

I hope their next limbus/dynamis/etc zone just makes people put a CC# in before they can enter instead of trading an hourglass. $1 charge per person to zone in.

No, they do need it. Square-Enix assumes responsibility for lost accounts, costing them money. They don't have to, but, despite common belief, they do like their players and value them as customers. They spend thousands of dollars trying to recover hacked accounts, but do they have to? No, they don't. It's not their fault you got hacked. So now they're setting up these security tokens, buying them from another company, shipping them to you, and including all taxes, only charging each player a measly $10. They're not even making a profit here, and it's all just to protect players from their own stupidity of not valuing their own security. The extra inventory was just a way to get people to buy it, because they're too stupid to do so otherwise.
