I just said I didn't get it lol. It is relevant as an example of the new line of RMT content SE has been releasing though. So, items are optional. Quests and missions are now optional. What's left really? Job adjustments are optional? Not much else left to sell besides new areas which we can also classify as optional.
Life is full of disappointments man, sometimes the flamethrower burger I get at DQ doesn't taste quite right, sometimes it does, idk I eat them both and move on with life.
Ding ding. This here is what I'm talking about. Subjectivity.
Some people don't know what this means. Here's copy-paste from good 'ol dictionary.com.

I'm not going to lie, I don't really agree with the term "mini-expansion" because instead of giving small doses of all of the things 'real' expansions give, they focused on maybe 1/2 the aspects of what an expansion tends to be and then gave about 2/3 of that.
No new areas, or new endgame systems, etc...
But I am not disappointed at all because I view it as paying SE to bring me updates faster. I honestly doubt the augment system would have been in this patch if not for the development of ACP.
Not to mention that these are (for the most part) being made parallel to the version updates, just patched in at the same time for less server downtime, etc.
Some people might not like the idea of paying to get updates sooner, but hey... I enjoy the game enough that I don't mind. I highly encourage those of you who disagree with this to save your money and not buy ACP if you haven't already and also do not buy the other two "mini-expansions". If you all are in the majorty, SE will drop this style of updating the game.
I understand subjectivity, but reality isn't just this completely formless existence that is only relevant based on your own opinion. You can simply compare the content to the shit we've paid for, for years. You can look at all 4 expansions, and make a list of what 1/3rd of the expansion would look like. Does this equal $10?
You can look at the Mog Satchel and compare it to 1/3rd of an expansion. Does this equal $10? Does this equal 1/3rd of ToA?
You can look at the shittiest of all, the Tidal Talisman, is this worth $10 more than Treasures of Aht Urghan?
Then of course, you can look at the years of monthly fees we've paid for more content and items than we get with our current monthly fees and make a factual statement that has nothing to do with subjectivity. Like ...... we're getting alot less for our money now like several of us have been saying.
Now subjectivity would be, do you mind paying the same amount, or more, for less? That's where you can get a range of opinions.
I had fun doing those small missions because i have friends i set with, and we enjoyed the final battle. Do i have to remind you that sometimes you buy a PS3 game for 69€ and finish it after 4-5 hours? I prefer playing FFXI with friends, even if the content is not so "up to date", just because of the nostalgy and the affection on it already. 9€ for 2 days of travels and some fight, some interesting bodys, and a very nice final cs. Again, not like other games are cheaper. If you don't like well, why you are still on QQ mode on ;;
I really agree with Failure's assessment on page 1 (for me at least). It just feels like we are being taken for a ride by SE. I really cant comment on the expansion, as I haven't started it yet, but the mog satchel is bull shit. I was kinda pissed when they released the tidal talisman, as it has absolutely no background or reason to it other than to sell players the in-game item. However, it soon passed as it really isnt that big an improvement (aside from quick transportation once a day).
The mog-satchel is a WHOLE different matter. 80 more inventory is not optional, it is a NECESSITY. Sure we cant equip from it, but opening up that many spaces allows people to carry around all their gear, as well as farm, mine, craft, etc. and still have room. I know I am going to buy the token, as it is definitely worth $10 to me, however, why should I have to? Why should anyone have to? Charging for cool sidegrades or slight upgrades are fine, but at least TRY to veil it with the appearance of effort or purpose.
Posted my thoughts on ACP on mah blawg here:
tl;dr - Underwhelmed, but hey I got some stuff.
Know what? At 5 bucks this would have been a great add-on. At 10 it's kind of retarded.
