Too short. Fight at the end was fun; rest of the expansion sucked. Collection quest shoulda been any mob in the zone... wouldn't have been as silly then.

The body is a pretty nice upgrade for some jobs (SMN, COR, PLD, PUP, etc...).

Shoulda been a lot longer for what you paid...

I think the 3 big body pieces in conjunction with a massive group of possible items through nice, albeit random, augments was worth the $10. It wasn't just 3 scenes, 2 fights, and 1 reward. These are missions I am going to repeat every damn day until I feel like I've got the best possible combinations of stats for the items received through them.

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say anyone is really QQ over this specifically. Hell if you really think $10 is an amount to worry about then you should probably not be playing this game and you should go get more overtime at McDonalds. I just feel more like SE is burning their bridges with their fanbase like always.

They consistently take 2 steps forward and 1 back in trying making us happy. They're still adding good content as time goes but they package shit that should have been fixed from day 1 as update features and now they seem to be moving towards a micro transaction style of payment even though FFXI is still a cash cow for them. It's a bit like an abusive relationship just because your partner only hits you every few months doesn't mean it's ok.

The nation quests that are part of the update took longer and were more of a challenge then the add-on. True you can repeat segments for more rewards to get more out of your purchase but still i don't like that the storyline that was free with the update was more engaging then one i payed for. To me it honestly didn't feel like they had a separate team working on this and that it was more of a side thing they worked on when they had the spare time.
My hope is that most the teams workload was in making the augment system work so maybe next add-on will be more filled out.

Are the people who are bitching even going to bother trying to farm for decent augment gear once the hype dies down? I sort of feel the complaining about the duration of the mission doesn't take into account the fact it was intended to be repeated.

As boring as it is, I'm torn whether it would be better to be able to spam it for more chances at items, or needing to limit it to once daily because of the stupid competition for trash mobs. There is definitely a 'slot machine syndrome' component to this. I do like the Diablo style random-ish drops, I don;t like the mindless farming to get them though.

The ExpansionETTE was good, was it worth $10? probably not, but I'm glad I paid it, I'm enjoying my RMT Body for PLD as a reward. Tenshodo Keys were an OKAY system of farming for some new gear, the keys, the rings, and what else may come from redoing the 24 hour quest keys could be better then some of our current ring choices, amazing, doubtful, but still better, once the rush has passed I see myself going back for a couple attempts every now and then to fill the time.

In my opinion, the mission line would've been a great addition following COP, from a storyline standpoint, I always wanted to see that story chapter come to a close from the moment I installed the game, and was originally disappointed it wasn't touched on more. I was happy to see they brought Emeline in for COP and opened this door however quickly it was shut, this ending really was what I expected buying this.

I'm not getting the next 2 scenarios. I like this body piece, and yeah it's worth the $10, but the missions were absolute ass. I paid my money to be stuck in a zone farming level 25 goblins for a key item that I'm 0/90 on? The fuck? No. SE needs to up the ante if they expect me to buy into their future plans. That being said, I'm very happy with my new 6-hit. ^-^

No bonehead, the best part is the custom equipment, and random potentially awesome rewards (and the interesting final BCNM). You will either complain its too hard, or too easy, so I won't bite on that.

I actually agree with you Neo, and Thistle. The cutscenes were barely mediocre, the storyline was rushed, it felt like they paid someone 10 dollars to make it. For the price we pay for a full expansion it is very lackluster. Understandable, no new areas, jobs, monsters equals "mini-expansion", but two new tracks,a paragraph of text, with two fetch quests, and a guided level cap tour of Delfuktt is stretching the hell out of it. I paid 10 dollars for a body piece that i really wish just came as an added bonus for purchasing the expansion to save me from wasting 6 hours of my life.

I'm sure, people are bitter now, and considering not buying the next expansion, but I'm sure many think it was worth it for the extra space for $10 overall.

Also, I'm sure SE will toss in something in the next 2 expansions that will make you want to buy it anyway!

The fact that you can farm these BCNMs for +2 str earrings and such is pretty nice in theory but then I thought about and really it's too fucking random. In the time it will probably take to get one from that BCNM bullshit instead you could do ENMs, Farming, ISNMs, etc. and you'd have the +2 str earring and gil to spare. The random nature of drop is the biggest BS in the game my friend and I have been camping King Arthro for 2 years now yet to see a drop in the last 3 months we've gotten serious about making the camps and we've gotten probably about 75% of the claims and yet other people go 1/1 on this shit. The augment system yet again is an example of too much lottery bullshit. At the very least they should allow you some control over the base item is and the augments. The ACP body is an awesome application of augmentation, but the random augments are far too random.

Agreed, there are so many better ways this augment system could have been implemented, and I hope they change it in the future to allow players to work for better augments.
