1. If it exists, people will complain.
2. No matter what anyone does, people will complain about it.
3. Even if you try to fix it, people will complain about that too.
Well for one, the missions are a wee bit better than the 90% of this expansionette.
While the reward alone is indeed worth 10 dollars, I was expecting more of "have some semblance of fun for 10 dollars and a piece of gear" than "punch yourself in the dick for several hours to get the gear at the end for 10 dollars".
That's the thing, there are SOME boring parts of expansion missions, but they're made up for by badass fights, and challenge. Since they're working with such a small time frame with a tinier expansionette, they should have put in more fights and less filler.
If you look at an expansion, then look at the expansionette, there's a much better fight:dumb horseshit ratio in an expansion than in this thing.
That's why people are complaining.
Oh, and Whale...don't make me cut you. I will.
It's an illusion. Had they made you wait until midnight between each mission, the content would seem like 1/3 of an expansion.
Because ill be fucking DAMNED if im gonna wear marduk/oracles/whatever. Shits ugly, I wear af2 pants and blink when i dont need them.why do summoners wear relic pants? I see these pants full timed, and they do shit for our avatars. Macro BP piece only.
I still say that I bought this "scenario" for the story and feel gypped. No one who has done this can say, "Wow, that was an epic story truly worth dropping $10 to see." It was something scribbled off for an 6th grade composition class.
Don't buy it? Think about some of the logic involved. There's no connecting reason to go to Fei'Yin. None whatsoever. I'm ok with the Seedspalls being thrown all over, even though that's pretty poorly explained, too. After Fei'Yin, though, we're off to the Hall of the Gods for a cutscene. The only clue that we should go there, too, is the text of the fucking mission log. There's no connection. I've read non sequitur stories that are explicitly designed to have no coherent plot and they still make more sense than this dribble.
$10 for two moderately interesting cutscenes is a rip. Out of Treasures of Aht Urhgan, which I think I only paid $5 to acquire when all is said and done (hurray for new accounts and the Vana'diel Collection), I got one of the most engaging series of cutscenes in the entire game: the Ode of the Serpents. And, of course, that's only a very small part of what I got from ToAU. Had Crystalline Prophecy been remotely on the same level as that, or even on the level of storytelling involved in bloody Rise of the Zilart (which was also disconnected, arbitrary, and laughably easy unless you were trying to do it at level 50), I'd be content even without the piece of gear. As it is, although I don't agree with the sentiment that this is a form of selling gear for money, I can certainly see the impoetus to make that claim.
You can spin however you want, but there is very little redeeming in the way Crystalline Prophecy has been packaged. Getting access to the Fenrir battle was more interesting and challenging than this pap.
Release the add-ons in 9 month intervals instead of 3, and add thrice as much content to each (and keep the price at 9,99$). Or split them to 3 update periods instead of 1 (this would go against the idea of these add-ons though). That'd be enough IMO.
I've got some content for you right here in these sweat pants!

Anyway.
I think as someone said earlier in the thread, ACP is less intense and interesting than the promy fights were. The first 3.
I mean at least when we did that, we had to farm our animas from new mob families.
And now we've started praising CoP. Amazing. I think it's time we all uninstall.
