They're pretty much doing that with WOTG, I see ACP as a "small, yet bonus add on", that costs only 10 dollars. 10. measly, bucks, something that most people could make in an hour or less. (and I don't have a job, and I'm on fixed income and only have enough to pay my rents and tuition.)The harder somethin is to beat/obtain, The funner it is to me,and the better i feel when completed.
ACP can burn for all i care, all this new content to make new players happy and pay SE more money is shit,
Should focus on making the game more challenging, instead of making it okay for everyone to achive the same with ease.
Hard is FUN.
New content that takes us away from easy to kill/hard to claim Kings, yes plz
What I'd REALLY love to see, is for SE to revisit the older zones and stuff, and touch it up. Look at the sky effect in ToAU area and WOTG area, same with the weather effect, and the way the zone looks. Look at the old area. They barely changed since the day it came out, and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
BTW you also have to consider adding in the new jobs, and making sure that they are balanced with the current jobs as well, as part of the main expansions.
I'm pretty sure most everyone used "For Glory", Erecia's CoP guide to wade through the missions, not Alla, and not BG.
CoP (un-nerfed) was the best time I've had in ffxi. After that, probably learning Nyzul Isle.
Its sad complaining from somewhere turned CoP into easy-mode, but no amount of complaining from everywhere will fix Salvage drop rates or AV.
I was just posting about what you got for you money. Also "All that stuff" in ACP was advertised b4 it came out as well. Infact we knew more just because we knew the reward. When we bought this add on they said story line would be all of it just like the expansions say what come with it.
Yes, hard is fun, when you don't have to depend on 5 idiots that can't use their animas when called and shout for members in jeuno for an hour until you can leave off to farm animas for another 1h before you can climb up to the spire and wipe. If it was just me, then sure, I like hard, and same if I got 5 other competent players with me. But yeah, when that isn't the case (quite often with pickups, and even statics sometimes), I admit that I'd like the content to be a bit easier. Where do you find 5 people at level 30 with good enough skill and gear that you could even try the promies anyway..?
Says right on the playonline page that its an "Add-On Scenario", not an expansion.
check the left side of the page
I don't see anything wrong with it, they gave us nothing more than what we were told.
Neo just create an online petition and be done with this.
Fuck petitions. Having a pissed off playerbase that doesnt buy their next product says more than names on a list they wont even look at.
I already said the ways we could motivate change:
Dont buy the next add ons.
Have all the sites tell them this is NOT what we want in the future.
And for the people still posting "they didnt promise anything else", go back to your legos.
Dont know, as i always lead my runs, I find most satisfying to do stuf unkowing what to expect.Test and try again,Is how u learn.
I always will say people will be as good as their leader is , for mission and stuf, is always best to expend time explaining thins over and over than diying mid way couse some1 didnt know.
Constructive coment btw,
Sorry for ass coment before =x.
I'm happy with the addon and I'll be buying the next one.
Your opinion that this addon wasn't what you hoped and that it's garbage isn't everyone's opinion by a long shot.
I mean should we expect a thread about the next two as well? I think we both know you'll be buying them.
I like the add-on. It's more than I expected it to be. ^_^
While this isn't certainly true for myself, but I think the biggest reason why most people got these expansions were for the reward. wouldn't surprise me.
Then why do you compare it to the real expansions.=/Says right on the playonline page that its an "Add-On Scenario", not an expansion.
Wonder how many people would buy this if there was not such a good reward at the end, No one.
Back to my first post,
People buying an item , most of us anyways.
I only compared it to a real expansion's storyline to show exactly what your dollars and cents are worth in regards to story.
I'm sure some people will say "But but but the other content blah blah blah", just look at it like the other content that doesn't come out with the disk expansion as free.
edit: As for you Neo, I'm pretty certain that this isn't what true expansions will be in the future. I probably will buy the other mini expansions as they come out, there really isn't a reason not to. It's only a game, after all. I'm going to get as much enjoyment out of this game as I can before they pull the plug on the servers, or I quit, whichever comes first. I would recommend that you try to do the same, because maybe when you grow up a little you will see how immature your bitching looks about a game.
FINAL FANTASY XI クリエイターズボイス: 2008年11月 アーカイブWhile not necessarily containing as much content as traditional expansions, these episodic scenarios are designed to take anywhere from one to two months to complete.
Scroll down to about the end and you'll find that's exactly what it says.
So don't give me this bull shit it's a mistake to expect something because they put it straight up infront of us 1-2 months. 1-2 months of missions should not be finished in 12 hours of game play. End of story.
time to put more effort into holding a video game company accountable than we do anything else, who else is with me
and treat it deadly seriously
