Oh, I can get friends together for them easily enough. The problem is that it shouldn't be requiring me to annoy 5 people for "I wanna do CoP X-Y" when I should be viably able to annoy only 2-4 other people.

Hence why I posted above that being able to beat Promyvion with 4 people is a good thing. Makes it more accessible for the average player.

My biggest qualm against FFXI BCNM type fight is that the best setup requires most specific certain job combinations, which making the fights impossible with other job utterly undoable to complete that fight. that really bothered the crap out of me.

Or, the average player could get more friends.
I see nothing wrong with needing 6 people for a fight.

Depends on the fight. Early, level 30 missions should not require so many people. Nation quests don't, for instance. Later missions with higher level caps, sure.

I wish FFXI had a multi-job system that they could leave up to the descretion of the player to address this issue if s/he wanted to.

It just makes it so if you don't have the 'preferred jobs' you're pretty much screwed and not everyone wants to level a 'preferred job' especially if one of the jobs isn't one they found fun (or else they would have leveled it to begin with.) That's probably the biggest problem with new jobs, even back upon zilart days people were excluding DRKs from even Sky.

Like how it worked in quite a few of Square's games, where characters you never really used still leveled up with you in case you decide to use them later, only problem with FFXI, you gain abilities around crucial periods that you may or may not know/understand how to use if you never 'grew up' with it.

Level something fucking useful then, or don't Q.Q when your pup doesn't get to help? I don't know what else to say to you.

Exactly, it shouldn't have to be that way..and most of the time it's just people refusing to see what (excluded jobs) can do and automatically exclude them, but that's usually because of people who play it poorly.

Like BLU, they were excluded from quite a bit of events and slowly became a 'must have' job in many of them overtime.

People QQ when an HNM says they don't want PUPs or some other loljob? It's not like SE designs one in the intention of it being shitty, it's the player base that don't wanna use jobs, and shitty players using them most of the time, like you said.

    Wow, you're retarded.

There's jobs I leveled, that I don't like, because they're useful. Brd? Fucking hate it, but I leveled it.

Do you realize how bland every fight would be if you could beat it with any job combination?
    Really fucking bland.

It's simply impossible to make EVERY fight available to EVERY job. Sure, there's way to squeeze certain, not-so-ideal jobs into fights, and if they can get people to go with them, more power to them.

Or, you can level a spread of jobs in different areas, so no matter what the game throws at you, you'll be able to meet it head on.

WAIT THAT WOULD MAKE SENSE, let's spoon feed everything to every retarded DRK ONRY that exists.

You know there's a word for that

    masochism

Sorry broski, but why level a job you actively know you won't enjoy for a game you're not being paid to play

And yet using the same old tired "FTW!" setups doesn't get bland?

As a different-game example, you can beat Final Fantasy Tactics with a party consisting of any single job combination. You can also beat it solo as almost any job. It's not considered bland at all. It actually makes for a really interesting game experience.

Far less bland than beating something the same way 50 times.

I'm sure there's many many people who are sick of fighting colibri, yet because it gives good exp they'll keep doing it.

I don't see how using my own quote somehow defeats or lessens my point? People use what works, if something new comes along(and it's efficient), they use it. Like how haste gear became the new staple for all melees, etc. With this many people playing the game and doing testing, if using your pup on Ix'drg was really as efficient as a blm (Random example, whatever.) it would be in use, but it's not.

Edit: And to mention your Colibri example, you can go fuck yourself if you think I'm going to exp my SAM in Bibiki because my fast lesser Colibri/Eronf Colibri pt's are "Stale" or "Bland" as opposed to the lesser used zone.
