I'm pretty sure you yourself can even admit that you pretty much whine about everything.
I'm pretty sure you yourself can even admit that you pretty much whine about everything.
Not really. Just because 3 idiots that jack themselves off by getting excited about everything handed to them dont like what I have to say, doesnt make it less true.
You 3 really have nothing relevant to add to any thread besides attack posts and trolling about "well you dont have to play the game".
In fact, you are the only one of the stooges to say they even liked the expansion. Is Seraph a whiny bitch for wanting more from the storyline? Are you a retarded whiner for wanting less grinding in the augment system?
You have a pretty fucked up double standard Des.
It's such a simple concept to grasp though, if you don't like a hell of a lot of the game, why do you still play? It seems people that do nothing but constantly bitch about the game continues to play instead of just..moving on.
How do I have a double standard..by liking the Add-on? I don't get it.
Do any of you think the add-on was challenging enough to justify the awesome options on the bodypieces or interesting enough to justify the $10? No? Congratulations, you paid $10 for an imaginary body. It's just RMT on a smaller and more legit scale.
While charging for the add-on was a bit cheap on SE's part, I did enjoy the fights and I made a new friend or two along the way. I also got a decent body till I can afford 10m to finish Ares's lol.
My whole thread is a troll? I legitimately want to know who will actually pay for the next add on after this let down. And to be honest, I think alot of the people dissapointed here will STILL buy it due to SE tagging on another in game item or bonus.
"Well the last one was total crap, but this new one comes with a haste ring!"
^
I would be shocked if SE spent more than $1000 on this, counting bandwidth, worker compensation, and marketing. The marketting was an ad put into their already existing program that could've been written by an 8th grader, missions themselves have a terrible storyline that could also have been written by an 8th grader, and they didn't need to code much of anything as almost all of it was just reusing existing content and existing functions.
A better analogy is if I went out and paid 14 dollars to watch the first 15 minutes of a movie.. because that's what this add on felt like.
Also, who pays 14 bucs for a movie?
Just about every MMO have RMT in some form, and most Chinese/Korean/Japanese mmos thrive on 'payshops', FFXI is actually one of the few MMOs that isn't on that trend. People want challenges..yet whine that "CoP was too hard Q_Q" so they make ToAU and WoTG pretty easy...yet people whine "ToAU/WoTG is too easy Q_Q"...so there's no pleasing anyone these days.
The Add-on was interesting, challenge? It was a change of pace than the usual "Log on, craft/xp/do events/wait for more WoTG story" the last 2 BCs were fun as hell, and 10$ isn't even that much money jesus lol, some people pay over $40 a month for FFXI, if people feel ripped off after doing this Add-on that's them, but in the end, it was a fun little thing to do.
Considering people using the 'entertainment value' metric are usually only concerned with entertainment cost per hour/day/week/whatever, it is very much applicable.
Just because entertainment costs more to produce does not mean it is more entertaining, or worth more money to experience (Which is interestingly enough applicable to our current ACP discussion). Perhaps people were expecting ACP to be better than it turned out due in part to the fact it is more expensive than other content we receive.
I responded on page 4.
I am glad you have already decided what my opinion is before I already stated it.
Just so you know, I think that this scenario-whatever-it-is is a massive disappointment.
I would also like to point out like I did on page 4 that your complaints were not about the expansion, they were about the security token which is still win even though the expansion scenario was not.
And that proves my point. The universe is not black and white, and SE can do both bad and good things at the same time. There is no slippery slope from one thing to another, and we can pick and choose what is good and bad and what we want to pay for in the future.
Will I be hopping right out to get the next expansion? Nope. I am insanely pleased with my security token purchase? Yep.
When you finally realize that the world is neither all dread or all glee you will be a much more balanced person and you might actually stop spazzing out all the time.
Neo's not being whiny, you're just taking any opportunity to label anyone that has anything negative to say about FFXI as such. He's being honest, and choosing not to sugar-coat his sentiments with "but yeah I like my new PLD body" and "the last fight had cool music!". This was marketed as a mini-expansion, its length was grossly exaggerated prior to its release and it should've simply been a new quest line instead, and this is coming from someone that actually did quite enjoy playing through it simply because I got to experience new content with friends.
Anyone saving this for the "Delicious quotes from the 'Feel better now?'" thread in a couple months?
But yeah, I got the add-on and I haven't done anything but the opening cutscene yet... I'll get around to it, just like everything else. Reward worth it? I can't say yet! ... but best QD body piece in the game sounds pretty much worth it for me personally.
