Deep Breathing (and presumably Convergence) is "Magic Atk. Boost", not "Magic Atk. Bonus." The fact that they look very similar is probably what causes the confusion about how one or the other affects magic and breath damage.

No, suiram is saying exactly what I was. "Magic attack" can refer to really anything in ability/buff descriptions, but refers to MAB in nearly every case.

MAB buffs that do not affect breath spells such as mementori mori and dream shroud also show up as "magic attack boost" in their buff description, so I don't see what you're getting at.

    Bullshit.

That's because as a stat (outside of MAB) it doesn't exist, like I said. 'Magic attack' refers MAB in all situations except two(convergence, deep breathing), in which case there is no actual stat being boosted, just a multiplier being added or changed.

I was inclined to believe that's what you meant, but this line makes it appear as if you were saying Magic ATT = MAB:

Either way this argument is done. The point is that MAB doesn't affect breath attacks, so there was no reason to believe Nuevo Body would do so in any way. This semantics issue is getting almost as ridiculous as that DA diminishing returns thread.

In the case of convergence, the "Magic Attack+" term is supposed to be a direct enhancement of the blue spell's damage and is different from the trait "Magic Attack Bonus" (or "Magic Attack Up") although they look very similar. As it was pointed out, the former affects Breaths and spells like 1000 needles, while the latter doesn't.
