No no, more of a comment on whether or not I'll care enough to get the back-story (or in this case, fore-story?) to Caprica

Theres very little real backstory from BSG, only thing it will do is spoil the ending of Caprica for you (little Billy Adama grows up to be a badass and the 2 dads succeed in making AI that kills everybody)

Well, some background for people who don't know the origin of Caprica was a screen play for a movie on Artificial Intelligence submitted to Universal Studios. It was passed on to be a movie but someone sent the script to Universal Television.

The producers of BSG were told it was too expensive and limited it to 5 seasons. When told of this I think in the 2nd season, they threw out the ideal of a prequel. Being busy finishing up BSG they failed to submit any sort of outline on the prequel. When someone over at Universal Studios dropped the script in their laps and they went to the writer and got the ok to adopt it and morph it into their BSG prequel.

So in a way it's not a true prequel to BSG it's someone else's story twisted so it fits as a BSG prequel.

you got a source on the producers limiting BSG to 5 seasons for cost? Cause afaik Ron Moore ended it because he had told the story he wanted to tell.

You can kinda tell, what with the holoband stuff and all.

I'm not a big fan of Bill and his dad being part of this story. It seems like they're trying too hard to bring in some characters you know of, when really, I'd be better off if it was a completely new set of characters.

some of the deleted scenes put a new twist into the storyline. Like Adama finds out that Greystone's daughter was linked to the bombing, he said to his friend, something like: we'll deal with this the Tauron way, blood for blood. Something like that

Ok, got finished watching all the stuff out there with BSG. I really liked it, but it seemed like the show changed dramatically when Guies Baltar stopped being the comic relief. A serious show like this really needed that, imo, and seeing each episode one after another became really tough with the constant serious serious serious. Definitely glad I watched it, though, it was a great story.

Baltar was a king in the first couple seasons.

In the third and fourth seasons, the one-eyed pirate was the sole reason to watch the show.

Yeah I really liked his character. I loved that he was always talking to his invisible "friend" despite where he was, and was even caught fucking it, lol.

It certainly made his character more like-able. I was certain they were going to kill him off eventually, until he became a more stable and reliable character as the one-eye.

Tonight's episode was stellar. I can't wait to see what RDM is going to do with this series, esp with that big of an event going on right off the bat.
