why do people like xenogears so much?

I played Xenogears when I was a young teen... don't remember much about the gameplay but I do recall the main character getting laid. That's the only thing interesting thing I can remember from the game.

I was playing it and having an alright time when I got to some sewer(?) level and I popped my head up through some sort of manhole cover type thing. Game glitched or something cause I couldn't get out of it and I hadn't had a save point for a while so I said FUCK YOU GAME and haven't played it since.

Final Fantasy I was a shitty game. Dragon Quest I was a shitty game. Dragon Quest series remains shitty because they are updates to a shitty game. Final Fantasy's first step out of a cycle of shittiness was XI. They took that step right into MMO hell.

The first decent game in the Mother series was Mother 3 and yet it is incredibly simple and a boring game. Mother series has only ever been amusing for its fluff. I would rather watch an anime about it.
