Simple simple question! Full or Compact?

I play on a laptop and I use full+controller, I tried using compact and hated it.

Full. One thing I love about FFXI as opposed to other MMOs is being able to type stuff in chat without having to press enter or spacebar or something. It's probably a personal quirk, but that extra button bugs me out in other games.

I play strictly by Gamepad using my PS2 to USB adaptor so I can use my Ps2 controller for FFXI. I can't really stand playing FFXI by keyboard, full or compact.

Compact -- I never have to leave home row. I use WASD & IJKL for many games. Playing on the numpad just feels crappy.

Compact. When I started it was on PS2 and that was the default keyboard scheme. Didn't bother to change since it worked well for me.

The opposite of this. Compact, because I want to have to press a button to type.

I use full keyboard, just a habbit I guess. Whenever I'm just sitting at my computer, my right hand casually rests on number pad/arrow keys area. Left hand hangs out around Alt-Tab or so. :X

I'm a touch typist and all, and I type correctly, but it's certainly not comfortable to rest your hands like that. Having a lot more space between my two hands in the default position is a lot more...relaxing feeling, I guess?

I dont' understand how you freaks play compact. I played a friends mule account that had compact selected and I almost killed myself before I changed it to full.

Since I installed on my laptop in the summer of '06, Compact and only Compact. I love not needing to use the mouse at all.

Is it just me or does anyone else get killer hand cramps from using the stupid numpad? Happened all the time before I switched to Compact, and I don't miss that.

You wouldn't believe how many times in MSN or whatever I'll start my converstation with "/l" and then press Escape to erase that closing the window... I've gotten so used to typing /l /p /t whatever I don't even know I'm doing it anymore.

I do the same thing. It bugs me when any chat client closes upon hitting "escape".
